Who’s Lurking in Vegas ’til 2006?

Friday, December 30th, 2005

Las vegas legs 2006

Blame it on superstition that you just want to be surrounded by happy, beautiful people when the year turns. There’s no shame in that, or owning a feather boa. After all, New Year’s Eve is one occasion that calls for bubbles, costumes, and pyrotechnics all in one breath.

That’s why Las Vegas is top-of-mind. It’s one of those places where you go to celebrate with the celebrated, as if life isn’t redundant enough. Should you end up in Vegas on New Year’s Eve, it won’t hurt knowing whom you’ll potentially run across. Especially that their aura just might rub off of you all year.

Year in Sports: Top Stories of 2005

the_ring.jpg

Okay, so here we are, on the brink of kicking the old fart we call 2005 in the ass and ushering in the new and fresh aura of 2006. But before we do just that, let’s take a look at some of the best stories of the past 365 days.

10. Fernando Alonso Dethrones Michael Schumacher

Yep, it finally happened. The long (and boring) stranglehold of Scuderia Ferrari’s ace driver, Michael Schumacher, finally came to a close in 2005 when a Spanish Renault driver named Fernando Alonso took advantage of his fast start in the season, holding on just enough to end 2005 with an F1 championship.

Heat at Pistons - this is not the Finals!

Thursday, December 29th, 2005

Crazy buzz around this game between a surging Miami Heat and a rock solid Detroit Pistons. Game starts in an 15 minutes - still enough time to read up and get a bet on the game. JJ Black called the opening odds right here on OJ - Pistons opened as 6pt favorites [DonBest]

Don’t expect a high scoring game with this one. The Pistons will grind it out and play a playoff type game just to let the Heat know it’s going to be a LONNGG June. All of Miami’s flaws will be exposed in this one. Shaq or should I say Pat Riley thinks that you can put 7 egos in one room and a winnner just appears WRONG!!!!!

Vince Young to Avenge Heisman in Rose Bowl

Thursday, December 29th, 2005

Vince Young Rose Bowl Texas LonghornsVince Young hates losing. His Texas Longhorns team went undefeated this season. They are the defending Rose Bowl champions and current Big 12 titlists. But Young suffered his very first lost of the season when all-purpose runner Reggie Bush beat him for the Heisman award. And Young wasn’t happy about it.

Young and his legion of fans expected the Heisman Trophy to land on the Lone Star State. Many will agree.

Just Don’t Piss Him Off

Thursday, December 29th, 2005

mad_knight.JPGBasketball has it’s share of very colorful coaches who all has his or her persona on and off the court.

The Los Angeles Lakers, for example, has Phil Jackson, who is known for his calm and collected behavior in every basketball game. It doesn’t matter whether his team is down 20, up 20 or in a close game, he makes it a point to keep his old scrawny ass glued on the chair.

I don’t know if he’s just letting his players play basketball or that he’s just really really lazy.

Of course, Pat Riley is also one of these colorful coaches who stands out in basketball.

Is it a Sin to Win a Million Dollars?

Wednesday, December 28th, 2005

UK Open Winner Casino

Sure it ain’t like Vegas where you’ll have to dig into your pocket to let the good times roll, CASH ONLY and get this, ZERO BONUS. Although you get a free cocktail but better tip that waitress! As little as $1 and less bet is enough to keep that roulette wheel spinning. Still it stays true the saying that you have to risk a lot to win a lot.

Question is, do people really win ten thousand, hundred thousand… no… million dollar jackpots… at online casinos?
