Just Don’t Piss Him Off
Basketball has it’s share of very colorful coaches who all has his or her persona on and off the court.
The Los Angeles Lakers, for example, has Phil Jackson, who is known for his calm and collected behavior in every basketball game. It doesn’t matter whether his team is down 20, up 20 or in a close game, he makes it a point to keep his old scrawny ass glued on the chair.
I don’t know if he’s just letting his players play basketball or that he’s just really really lazy.
Of course, Pat Riley is also one of these colorful coaches who stands out in basketball.
He has this slick, pulled-back, gangster hairstyle that makes you keep looking behind you whenever you talk to him, you never know when a Robert Deniro look-alike will just hit your head with a baseball bat.
But of all these basketball coaches, perhaps none is as colorful as Texas Tech’s head honcho, Bobby Knight.
Controversial and colorful, combustible and combative, Bobby Knight is indeed, one of the most successful coaches in college basketball history.
However, he has a knack in finding ways to argue with referees, players, fans, you name it.
If you have a dog, he’ll argue with it too.
Bobby Knight is very well known for his tirades against players, referees and reporters as for his coaching wizardry.
He’s known to be rude, defiant and hostile.
Let’s just say that if you see flying chairs in an NCAA basketball game, that means Bobby Knight is in the house.
Just don’t piss him off and his coaching brilliance will be the only thing that you’ll get.
Do otherwise and he’ll give you a chair shot harder than Triple H knocking you down with a sledgehammer.
Just one of those things that makes NCAA basketball that more fun to watch.
