When we asked our favorite gambling bloggers to come up with lessons they could pass along to the youth of today, who would have thought their mistakes would all be alcohol-induced? Well, if you know Iggy from Guinness and Poker, it starts to make a lot of sense. Here’s Iggy:

When I moved to Las Vegas on my 25th birthday, I knew nothing about the city beyond what I had seen in Kojak re-runs.

I quickly learned a lot. I learned that drinks are free in the casino if you are gambing. I like free drinks like a fat kid loves cake.

I learned rather quickly that free booze + gambling + an ATM card is a BAD THING.

After a few unfortunate drunken incidents at the Mirage blackjack tables, I soberly cut my ATM card in half.

And I’ve never, ever, ever used one since.
