Louisiana Riverboats: 15 is Magic Number
The 15th and final riverboat casino called L’Auberge du Lac Hotel & Casino (French for “I want to lose money some place classy and near water”) will open on Thursday sporting a 26-story hotel has 743 rooms, suites and private villas in the southwest portion of the state near Lake Charles.
Louisiana law only permits 15 riverboat gambling casinos–they want to keep the riff-raff out obviously–and this will be the last one, hopefully opening up the doors for legislation to push forward with some real money-making opportunities like brothels.
