NBA All-Star Game 2007: Keep The Books Away
The gambling magazine with its shit consistenly together, Covers, offers up a story about the potential ban on casino gambling for the 2007 NBA All-Star game this year, basically rendering the entire game more meaningless than it previously was. (Come on, you know it–that game hasn’t been as fun as it used to be for a lonnng time now.) Casino regulators Thursday recommended suspending bets by bookmakers on the 2007 NBA All-Star game, if Las Vegas is awarded the event. The league will not even remotely consider the city`s bid without the ban. According to Gaming Control Board chairman Dennis Neilander, nongambling revenue from fans, players and media coming to the city would make up for any losses to bookies. In fact, gambling officials have even offered to break the legs of would-be bettors even if there is no action, just to keep the books happy.
