Iowa Store Produced $200 M Powerball Ticket
Friday, September 29th, 2006
A Powerball ticket sold at an Iowa convenience store is worth $200 million, Iowa Lottery officials said.
The winning ticket was sold at a Kum & Go in Fort Dodge, about 70 miles northwest of Des Moines. About 499 of these somewhat valuable Powerball tickets were sold at the store for drawing, well, that is according to Iowa Lottery spokeswoman Mary Neubauer.
The winner has not yet come forward.
The prize, if taken in payments over 30 years, would be $140.5 million after taxes, Neubauer said. She also said that
the lump sum payment would yield a check of $67.1 million after taxes.
An assistant manager at the convenience store was shocked to hear the winning ticket was sold at her store.
‘’I've got goose bumps,'’ Robin Graves said in a statement. The Kum & Go chain will get a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
The winning numbers, 13 21 26 45 50 and Powerball 20, were computer picked, said the Iowa Lottery Spokeswoman.
The jackpot was the 13th won at more than $200 million in the…

Paris Hilton Was Drunk Driving According to Not-So-Nice LAPD!
Friday, September 29th, 2006
Turns out the LA police who took Paris Hilton to the station to avoid the press weren’t so nice at all.
Previously insisted that she was speeding to a nearby In-and-Out and that the taste of alcohol "grosses he out", her toxicology test came out proclaiming otherwise.
Hilton was charged Tuesday with driving under the influence and scheduled to be arraigned Sept. 28 in Superior Court on charges of driving under the influence and driving with a blood-alcohol level of 0.08 percent last September 7.
Her spokesperson, Elliot Mintz, assured the heiress’ public that this is her only DUI arrest and that she has never been brought to the precincts before this incident.
Yeah, he also faced the media that fateful day telling us all that Paris was not arrested and it was a misunderstanding. So should we believe a word that is coming out of his mouth now?
As part of the special treatments given to celebrities Paris is not required to…

Alexander Finds Out How Serious Madden Curse Is
Tuesday, September 26th, 2006
Maybe THIS TIME, these NFL Football players will think twice before they decide to be EA Sports’ next Madden cover boy.
After all, this somewhat cursed NFL Football video game from the sports division of Electronic Arts (yes, I’m also a video game geek…) has been fucking NFL Football players up since they started featuring actual NFL athletes as their cover boys.
Shaun Alexander, the latest cover boy of Madden NFL Football, has a broken foot and will be out INDEFINITELY from the NFL Football field. Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Holmgren said that their star running
back sustained a small crack and displaced fracture on a non – weight – bearing bone in his foot sometime during the team’s 42-30 win over the New York Giants Sunday.
This is definitely a huge blow to the Seattle Seahawks offense, considering that Shaun Alexander IS the league MVP. I guess this infamous Madden Curse struck again eh?
Legendary NFL Football announcer John Madden graced the cover from the early stages of the video game series, from 1989 to 2000, hence the name ‘’Madden NFL Football.’’ And then, when these guys from EA Sports can’t stand John Madden’s fat ass anymore, they started using…

Superdome saw Super Saints Return Fine in NFL Football
Tuesday, September 26th, 2006
No natural disaster would stop the New Orleans Saints from destroying the Atlanta Falcons in their first home game.
Nobody saw this one coming. It was almost as if fate wanted the New Orleans Saints to emerge victorious on the NFL Football field. At all costs. And fate started working when the Saints blocked the very first drive of these once hot Atlanta Falcons, returning it for a touchdown to get New Orleans in a frenzy, quickly.
The ball skidded across the goal line, where Curtis Deloatch fell on it for a touchdown, the first given up by the Falcons this season. Just 1 ½ minutes into a homecoming that was over a year in the making, the Saints sent an emphatic message to the NFL and the entire country.
New Orleans is back.
Michael Vick, as great a mobile QB as he is, just can’t seem to find any wide receiver during the game. He did manage to surprise the Saints defense with timely runs with the football but doing it alone, like what he’s been doing during the past two weeks, wasn’t enough against the pumped Saints this time.
Vick was simply not the same player NFL Football saw in weeks one and two. The guy just went 12 for…

Jungle of the NFC North belongs to Chicago Bears
Tuesday, September 26th, 2006
The Chicago Bears are STILL on fire and in charge of the NFC North.
Rex Grossman was simply phenomenal. When everything seemed lost for the Chicago Bears against the Minnesota Vikings on Week 3, the young QB threw a 24-yard touchdown to Rashied Davis right after the 2-minute warning, rallying his team past the Vikings 19-16 on NFL Sunday Night Football.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Chris Simms can learn a thing or two from Grossman instead of hobbling out of the NFL Football field and having his goddamn spleen taken out.
Antoine Winfield returned one of Grossman’s two interceptions for a fourth-quarter touchdown, and Ryan Longwell’s third field goal with 7:27 remaining gave Minnesota a 16-12 edge. But Rex Grossman came through with his first career fourth-quarter scoring pass after Chester Taylor lost a fumble with less than 4 minutes left, and Adewale Ogunleye recovered at the Vikings’ 37-yard line.
This was the first win at the Metrodome since 2001 for the…

Simms Sucks in NFL Football but He sure is Tough
Tuesday, September 26th, 2006
At 0-3, nobody gave Chris Simms that much respect.
Well, nobody is giving the Tampa Bay Buccaneers respect these days anyway. Not Simms, not head coach Jon Gruden, NO ONE. Well, after the valiant effort Chris Simms displayed last Sunday en route to Tampa Bay’s third straight loss of the NFL Football season, I think he deserves a little respect now.
Chris Simms was punished by the Carolina Panthers defense to give Tampa Bay its third straight loss. And boy, Simms was punished like a bitch inside a goddamn jail house.
Ya’ gotta’ love Chris Simms’ heart. Heck, the guy just kept on playing, while BLEEDING internally. Yep, that’s
Chris Simms. Well, he doesn’t have much of a choice anyway. At 0-3, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers don’t have a choice but to just keep on playing until their arms fall off at this point.
How tough is Chris Simms?
His Sunday ended at St. Joseph’s Hospital, just a John Kasay field goal from Raymond James Stadium. Simms traveled there by ambulance. He arrived in critical condition. Critical.
His Sunday ended on an operating table. That’s where doctors removed Simms’ spleen in an emergency procedure. He’s stable now. But he’ll miss weeks. Months.
People were still trying to figure out when his spleen was damaged because…

Hurricane Vick to Destroy New Orleans in NFL Football
Monday, September 25th, 2006
The Louisiana Superdome has been resurrected and football returns to New Orleans on NFL Monday Night Football.
Yep, the New Orleans Saints will make their return to the Louisiana Superdome, one of just many trademarks devastated by Hurricane Katrina, when Reggie Bush and the rest of the Saints welcome something that may probably bring another form of devastation in New Orleans, Michael Vick and the red hot Atlanta Falcons.
Yep, NFL Football returns to New Orleans on Monday night, just over a year after Hurricane Katrina slammed the city and nearly destroyed one of America’s best-known stadiums.
While the game between the New Orleans Saints and the Atlanta Falcons features two unbeaten teams vying for top spot in the NFC South, residents of the Crescent City are ecstatic that the game is merely being played. Maybe in the back of their minds, they know that the Saints won’t stand a chance against these Falcons.
‘’It’s extremely significant,'’ said Atlanta Falcons head coach Jim Mora, whose father Jim used to coach the Saints. ‘’We all understand and we all have compassion for what the people of New Orleans have gone through and are still…'’

Jaguars Lost Their Cool as Colts Remain On Fire
Monday, September 25th, 2006
Poise and patience. This is perhaps the only thing the Indianapolis Colts had that the Jacksonville Jaguars did not.
The Indianapolis Colts, now at 3-0, were a study in poise and patience while moving a game ahead of the Jacksonville Jaguars, who falls at 2-1. Two undefeated teams faced-off in Week 3 and the Jags lost their cool. Maturity carried the day.
Jacksonville dominated the first half.
The Jaguars broke tackles, piled up a 157-10 advantage in rushing yards and held the football for 24 minutes, 31 seconds to the Colts’ 5:29. The Colts had a 51-yard Peyton Manning to Reggie Wayne completion overturned on a controversial call.
Twice Jaguars cornerback Rashean Mathis appeared to interfere with Colts wide receiver Marvin Harrison on what might have been touchdown passes. Neither drew a flag.
The Colts didn’t blink. They just kept playing.
‘’You do have to stay poised,'’ said Peyton Manning, who completed 14-of-31 passes for 219 yards and a touchdown against Jacksonville’s big, strong, brutally competitive defense. ‘’Offensively we’ve been in enough games and guys have been around enough to know that it’s going to be a four-quarter game and you’ve got to move on from it.'’
The defense did the same as the Colts won their 11th consecutive AFC South game and for the 25th time in their past 28 regular-season games. After missing tackles in bunches and yielding 5 yards a snap during the first half, they tightened down and…

Brett Favre Throws 400 TD Passes in NFL Football
Monday, September 25th, 2006
A 30-plus year old man, signaling for a touchdown, pumping his fist afterwards.
Yep, who would’ve thought that we’ll still see the same thing over and over in this new era of NFL Football? Yep, Brett Favre, as old as he is now, STILL is providing Green Bay with a whole lot more of the same show.
Yup, and no one from Green Bay is complaining. Why would they? Brett Favre just scored number 400 in touchdown passes. Not many can lay claim to that.
Brett Favre led the Green Bay Packers to a 31-24 win over the Detroit Lions on his way towards NFL
Football History, throwing 400 career touchdown passes on the NFL Football field. Oh yeah, this win was also Green Bay’s first win of what was becoming yet another dismal NFL Football season.
This could be the momentum these Green Bay Packers were waiting for to turn their season around.
Brett Favre said he felt like a kid while celebrating after each TD, bouncing on his toes and leaping into teammates’ arms, but his body quickly reminded him that he’s not. Obviously.
‘’I've got to stop doing that because I get so tired,'’ Brett Favre said, who turns 37 next month. ‘’I have to be smarter. Mike [McCarthy] said, ‘Great job, but you have to quit running around like that,’ because I couldn’t talk to him, I couldn’t breathe.'’
With his first TD pass of the game, a 75 yard touchdown pass to…

Shana Hiatt Sues WPT for Bullying and Rumor Mongering
Monday, September 25th, 2006
The World Poker Tour Enterprise seem to be winning only enemies these days.
Latest to file a formal lawsuit againt WPT is its former host, Shana Hiatt, who accused Steve Lipscomb and his gang of depriving her of possible jobs outside of WPTE, and more…
According to Hiatt, the problems started in summer when she contacted by NBC about a hosting stint on a couple poker programs for the network, including the highly successful NBC National $1,000,000 freeroll at Paradise Poker Heads Up Championship show, the other was a proposed show called Poker After Dark.
Not only that, the former Miss Hawiian Tropic also claims she left her hosting stint at the ratings-topper poker show because WPT employees were spreading nasty rumors abour her and husband James Van Patten (and yes brother of another WPT host Vince Van Patten).
It was alleged in the lawsuit that after NBC offered Hiatt the job, Lipscomb called the network ‘hands off!’ because she’s still under contract with WPT as part of a non-compete clause in her contract. Which Hiatt denies ever signing.
What a bully Lipscomb and WPT is becoming in the eyes of many. Early in summer seven top poker players also filed suit against the company regarding the age-old debate of barring sponsor poker sites from the tournaments.
Hiatt’s Internet downloading (ok, and poker) fans are not happy about this revelation. "Hiatt also claims that Lipscomb has been going around telling people that the WPT "owns Hiatt in poker." Why would Lipscomb say something like…
