A Little Early Talking About NCAA College Football for a Clemson Tigers fan?
Is it a little too early talking about NCAA College Football? Then you’re not a Clemson Tigers football fan.
It can’t come soon enough for fans who have waited 25 years for a season to compare with that of coach Danny Ford’s national championship team. This should be the year Clemson is back on top, playing for an Atlantic Coast Conference championship.
NCAA College Football aficionados say Clemson will use a knockout defense and an offense more dangerously versatile than any Bowden has coached to pound out an 11-1 regular season record and earn a spot in the ACC championship game Dec. 2 in Jacksonville.
The Tigers will go 7-1 in the Atlantic Division, winning it by virtue of a 5-0 record within the division, losing only to Virginia Tech in Blacksburg. No team goes to a championship game in a barrel-chested conference like the ACC without a few breaks along the way, so this celebratory season assumes some things will fall into place.
Yes, the second and third games at Boston College and Florida State are difficult, but they are doable, for what should be obvious reasons. Or maybe these are merely wishful thinking perhaps?
Clemson lost to Boston College by a field goal in overtime last year, but the Eagles lost their best player on defense and while they will become another good unit, that will take some time. Clemson beat up Florida State last year and should prove it was no fluke by winning at Tallahassee.
After those first two challenges the only other road games all season are at Wake Forest and Virginia Tech, playing Temple in Charlotte is a gimme. Yes, they have fallen down against Wake Forest recently, but we all know what team is definitely better.
Playing at Blacksburg will be a huge challenge at the end of October when the Hokies will have things cranked up to make a statement but a loss up there will not ruin the season.
Quite the contrary. A better defense and a dangerous running game will mean fifth-year senior quarterback Will Proctor won’t have to carry a load as big as his predecessor Charlie Whitehurst was asked to pack around.
Who knows? By the time they get to the ACC championship game with a BCS bowl bid hanging on the outcome, the Tigers might be ready to let the quarterback win a game for them.
Can the Clemson Tigers win it all in the brand new season of NCAA College Football? Here are more odds from Bodog on some NCAA College Football teams and their odds to win it all this year:
