Ben Roethlisberger, NFL Players, can’t ride Two Wheels
Steelers QB, Ben Roethlisberger, broke his damn jaw.
Yeah, that’s what you get when you ride a motorcycle like a jackass.
Steelers star Ben Roethlisberger, the youngest quarterback to lead a team to the Super Bowl championship, broke his jaw and nose in a motorcycle crash in which he was not wearing a helmet.
Roethlisberger was in serious but stable condition, Dr. Larry Jones, chief of trauma at Mercy Hospital said before surgery.
‘’He was talking to me before he left for the operating room,'’ Jones said. ‘’He’s coherent. He’s making sense.
He knows what happened. He knows where he is. From that standpoint, he’s very stable.'’
NFL players crashing and burning when riding on two wheels is not new in the world of sports. Here’s a look at some NFL players who suffered the same fate.
In 2006, Jerome Mathis injured his hands and got scrapes and bruises, causing him to miss much of the offseason. Well, a couple of scrapes and bruises will make sure of that.
In 2005, a horrific accident (and a stupid on at that…) struck Cleveland tight end Kellen Winslow Jr. Yup, as if playing for the damn Cleveland Browns wasn’t enough. He sustained internal injuries and damages to his right shoulder and right knee. Yes, he did miss the entire season because of that.
Turns out, he was simply learning how to ride his new sport bike in a parking lot when he hit a curb and was thrown over the handlebars.
Told you it was stupid.
In 2004, Jamie Henderson of the New York Jets missed the entire season after sustaining injuries from HIS motorcycle accident April that year. Adding insult to injury, the New York Jets waived him afterwards. Ouch.
