Aw… Too bad.

The Florida Gators and the UCLA Bruins set up their NCAA Final encounter on Monday, sending George Mason’s Cinderella story home and leaving LSU’s Big Baby crying.

For the Gators, they ended probably NCAA’s biggest and most dramatic story with a bitter taste of a humiliating defeat. The Gators pounded George Mason, 73-58, in agame that fails in comparison to what was a closely-contested and exciting NCAA tournament.

Florida forward, Corey Brewer had this to say about their recent step towards NCAA greatness, ”We kissed Cinderella, put her back in her pumpkin, sent her home to her stepmom and stepsisters.”

Ouch. Talk about adding insult to injury huh? I had no idea Corey Brewer had that much knowledge about the Brothers Grimm.

In the end, Florida became the nation’s new villains when they ended NCAA’s Cinderella story, something casual and hardcore NCAA fans alike jumped into after probably watching their favorites take abrupt exits. I myself am one of those. (*Sigh* I guess the Tar Heels could just wait for next season.)

As for UCLA, it was just another day’s work.

Defense brought them an NCAA record, 11 NCAA championships, and last Saturday, they used that defense to shut down, literally, LSU’s biggest threat, the towering Glen Davis.

Yup, he’s as fast and as big as a man that goes by the name of Shaquille O’Neal in the NBA. Heck, he even does one better than Shaq when he drained a three-pointer in the NCAA tournament.

But against UCLA, Glen Davis was a mere skyscraper in the sidelines as the Bruins created such a big lead that putting Davis in there will probably do more harm than good.

It’s the Florida Gators going up against the UCLA Bruins. A program without any legacy of championships yet to show for in Florida will go up against a school rich with NCAA Championship tradition with the Bruins.

This year’s NCAA tournament had it’s share of unexpected moments and great comeback stories. Florida and UCLA will prove to be the perfect culmination of this crazy NCAA March Madness wars.
