Google says “Do you mean ‘Ashley Cole gay’”?

He’s in a tricky legal match.

And Arsenal midfielder Ashley Cole know’s he’s now fighting outside the football playing field.

Cole is suing News International, publishers of the Sun and the News of the World, for privacy, libel and harassment after a series of articles about two unnamed Premiership footballers involved in a gay orgy sex tape.

Here are the supposed lewd Ashley Colescenes of the tape:

Player A – a household name who has a reputation as a rebel on and off the pitch – shoves his mobile down his boxers. He performs a sex act with it which is too obscene to be described here. Then Player B calls his number to make the phone vibrate. Player A is also pictured on the bed while Player B – a multi-million pound goal-scoring mid-fielder – kneels to perform oral sex on him. Cole’s Internet problems are far from over. The former England international also demanded to know why Google are linking his client with the word ‘gay’ in their internet search results.

If you type ‘Ashley Cole’ into Google, the service brings up the option ‘See results for: Ashley Cole gay.’ Oh man. Cole is probably crying right now, asking his lawyers, “Help me please. Google says I’m gay.” This is made all the funnier because in some instances, if you googled "Ashley Cole", Google prompted "Do you mean ‘Ashley Cole gay"?

That is totally hilarious. Premiership players are considered sex symbols not sex offenders.

Cole’s actions beg another question, which is, what would benefit his privacy more? Making a public brouhaha about a false image of himself or keeping quiet and letting it blow over?
