Is Philadelphia Ready to Forgive Terrell Owens?

Of course, we all know the obvious answer to that.

Terrell Owens will lead his new team, the Dallas Cowboys, against his former team, the Philadelphia Eagles, in Philadelphia. This is, for me, the biggest game in the entire NFL Football schedule this season.

Why? Heck, you just know that this will happen one way or another as soon as T.O. began bad mouthing Eagles QB Donovan McNabb and the entire Eagles organization WHILE wearing the Eagles green NFL Football uniform last season.

Ohmigod, you can just feel the city of Philadelphia itching to see their Philadelphia Eagles pound Terrell Owens down.

Philadelphia is a city where underdogs are loved. Well, THAT is after the Rocky movie series began anyway. And yup, they do LOVE their athletes. From Allen Iverson and the Philadelphia 76ers to Rocky Balboa, Philly loves people who represent the City of Brotherly Love. No matter whether they are fictional or not.

But as far as the city of Philadelphia is concerned, you got to earn their respect. And as far as T.O. goes, he did do just that. Quickly. Terrell Owens ascended to the top of the Philadelphia greats as he led them to the Super Bowl. But as quickly as Terrell Owens found himself at the top of the Philadelphia pedestal, he fell from it just as quick the following season.

YOU NEVER CHALLENGE Philadelphia’s patience and with Terrell Owens bad mouthing Philly’s franchise QB Donovan McNabb, the entire city turned on him quickly. Hell, Owens single-handedly ruined the Eagles’ NFL Football season last year, and that’s the truth.

This time, Donovan McNabb has put the Terrell Owens era in Philly behind him and is now playing yet another stellar NFL Football season. Terrell Owens won’t be ruining the Philadelphia Eagles’ chances for another trip to the Super Bowl this time but the city would sure as hell love to ruin T.O. on that NFL Football field. Plain and simple.

Philadelphia ain’t ready to forgive Terrell Owens just yet. And with the looks of things, it looks like they never will.

Bet and play WagerTalk’s NFL Football Handicapping Contest and decide for yourself who will win this game between two former teammates now bitter enemies. It’s Terrell Owens vs. Donovan McNabb. Make your pick and play now.
