Other sports have their humogous trophies, boxing has its belt. But poker winners earn bracelets.

And not just any other 10-ton stainless steel alloy bracelet, in fact the World Series of Poker bracelet glitter with solid gold. And for many years now the WSOP has awarded these gold bracelets to the poker champions.

The bracelet not only recognizes the achievement of winning a WSOP poker tournament but accumulating a number of them have also become a benchmark of success in the poker community.

The legendary Doyle Brunson and Johnny Chan hold the most numebr of WSOP gold bracelets with 10 each, followed by blabbermouth Phil Hellmuth with 9, then Johnny Moss with 8. Other prominent poker players with more than 1 WSOP bracelet to their name are also considered part of the creme dela creme.

For the 2006 WSOP Main Events, Harrah’s and the WSOP peeps have elevated pokerdom’s most beloved piece of bling bling into something cat burglars would want their paws on.

This year’s WSOP has forty five events and, for forty four of them, the bracelet will be special. The bracelets are made from 14-karat yellow gold and accentuated by full cut white diamonds. The center plaque of the bracelet will have one-third a carat of diamonds and be held together by thirty five grams of solid diamond cut rope chain.

It doesn’t stop there. For the winner of the $10,000 WSOP Championship Event gets the specially created bracelet design by Triton Jewelry, made of 14k white and yellow gold, with a collection of diamonds and other jewels. 170 diamonds weighing 6 carats and the suits in the middle are made of a heart shaped ruby, princess cut ruby, black sapphire for the spade, and three round black diamonds make up the club.

Oh and yeah, he/she also gets an estimated $10 million top prize.

Now these new set WSOP bracelets are really living up to poker’s ritzy, extravagant image, and ’tis safe to allude to them as poker’s crown jewels. And don’t you just wish you can grab one of ‘em sparklers.
