Todd M. Rosenberg, the unemployed creator of an online cartoon that basically talks about making unemployment work, believes that one can be jobless and get paid at the same time.

It is by this belief that Todd Rosenberg earned him the title ‘’Odd Todd.'’

No connection with OddJack though.

Todd Rosenberg was apparently in trouble with the New York State Department of Labor and was accused of violating the law against collecting unemployment benefits while earning money.

This guy lives the life. His web site encourages visitors to send him a dollar in donations and yup, it worked.

Odd Todd has not actively searched for work as he spends most of his time answering e-mails, drawing cartoons and getting interviewed on TV after getting fired from his previous job.

‘’We knew for months that there [were] going to be layoffs so it was actually not too bad. I had like 2 months of nothing to do while we waited around to get laid off. I knew I was definitely getting fired because my job was ridiculous and made no money for the company even though that was my job,'’ Todd Rosenberg said. - Lockergnome

Odd Todd is not alone though. If you are an unemployed statistic, the Internet provides a place you can get help finding a new job, swap stories or just plain help pass the time.

Web sites like the likes of Odd Todd targets the unemployed demographic with humor and animated comic strips.

‘’No one’s taking advantage of this community across the country,'’ ex-Enron employee John Allario said.

John Allario started the web site www.laydoff.com after getting laid off by Enron.

‘’It’s a transient community, but it’s a community nonetheless,'’ he added.
