Pamela Is Boycotting Kentucky Derby…Yaaaawwn!

OK, we cared for her in Baywatch. But we don’t exactly pay attention when she talks even then.

Pamela Anderson attended the Kentucky Derby race back in 2001 and 2003, nowadays she’s carrying a different tune. Pam has announced that she’s boycotting the race (she didn’t say if for good) because it perpetuates cruelty to animals.

This sudden love for the horses blossomed just as the Derby took in a sponsor in the form of Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Anderson, a PETA member who attended the Derby in 2001 and 2003, has been involved in anti-fur ads and a campaign to raise awareness of what she calls abuse of chickens in processing plants that supply poultry to Louisville-based KFC.

"It makes me want to avoid Kentucky altogether, which is sad because there are so many great people there," Anderson said in a statement released Tuesday by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

Reacting to Pamela’s remarks, the people of Kentucky yawned and moved on to other news. A few locals with little spare energy to waste retaliated. Like this piece from Rhymes with Right:

"You know, Pamela Anderson is simply a bubble-headed, buble-breasted celebrity with an opinion….But remember — this is one of those folks who thinks it is a good idea to videotape sex acts with her spouse and leave them lying around where others can get their hands on them."

Meanwhile, Rob writes: "This is what happens when your career goes into the shitter. You align yourself with worthless causes in an effort to keep your name out there more then anything else."

Poor Pamela, lost her charm when she parted with her implants. Churchill Downs said it is saddened with Pam’s decision but hopes to see her back on the track soon…face down the dirt track maybe.
