Tony Romo is a Tom Brady fan. Heck, who isn’t?
As we watch Peyton Manning complete those first downs, see Michael Vick rush them yards, Tom Brady was simply, winning.
Yup, New England Patriots QB Tom Brady may not have the arm of a Peyton Manning or the mobility of a Michael Vick but if there’s one thing you can describe the calm Patriots general, it would have to be the fact that he is a winner once he takes that NFL Football field.
And yeah, we love him because of it. And it’s
not surprising that Dallas Cowboys young quarterback, Tony Romo, is following the very foot steps of this spectacular NFL Football superstar.
Playing in NFL Football takes a lot on the human body. Especially if you’re playing quarterback when you have five or six tank-like men coming at you, looking to deliver the most spectacular hit of the football game.
Tony Romo, after earning the starting QB job with the Dallas Cowboys, is definitely learning just that. Especially now that he will probably be on that 100-yard NFL Football field for the entire four quarters. (Yep… Don’t expect Dallas Cowboys head coach, Bill Parcells, to give Drew Bledsoe his starting spot back…) So how does Tony Romo battle the pressure?
Just do what Tom Brady does.
Be calm. Trust your preparation. Have fun. These are the kinds of things Tom Brady does on the field to be an effective quarterback and the young Tony Romo follows it like a bum to a Las Vegas whore. The 26-year-old Tony Romo haven’t met Tom Brady yet but that didn’t stop Romo from picking up advice in advance of his introduction to the big stage. Romo’s summer reading list this year included ‘’Patriot Reign: Bill Belichick, the Coaches, and the Players Who Built a Champion'’ by Michael Holley.
Romo read ‘’Patriot Reign'’ in the preseason and skims through it whenever he needs reassurance from someone like Brady, who’s been there and done it all. That includes replacing Drew Bledsoe, the same QB benched by Dallas coach Bill Parcells in favor of Romo at halftime of an NFL Monday Night Football loss to the New York Giants.
The Tony Romo era already began in Dallas but it remains to be seen whether he can be as good as Tom Brady is.
