Grant Hill to be Traded Back to Detroit?!?

Oh man, I wish that will happen soon.

Grant Hill, after quite a successful return to the NBA last season, (he was voted as a starter for the East All-Stars again) is back with the usual.

Injuries.

Yup, Grant Hill, the man once deemed as the next in line to fill-in the shoes of the legendary no.23, (I wish they’ll stop such nonsense already) was reduced to nothing more but a mere shell of his former self. Heck, nowadays, Grant will be lucky to do just that. He can’t even play one decent stretch of games for crying out loud.

Now with Grant Hill finally on the brink of retirement, there are rumors swirling that he will be traded back to Detroit for that one last hurrah before calling it quits. Much like what they did for Alonzo Mourning, the only problem there was no one expected Mourning to still be THIS good as O’Neal’s back-up.

If that trade did came to promise, Grant Hill will have a chance to bag that elusive NBA Championship ring before hanging those shorts up for good. On a plus side, if he stays healthy with the Pistons, he will join former All-Star turned spark-off-the-bench, Antonio McDyess, to lead Detroit’s second unit.

What a solid combination that one will be.

Grant Hill is 33, and has managed to play only 135 games in five years in Orlando. This year, a succession of hernia problems will cause him to miss some 60 games. The possibility of his returning to Detroit someday has been discussed, and were that to happen, it could potentially close the book on a Piston parting that pleased no one. He’d be a perfect compliment off the bench and possibly get his championship ring. He could also ensure his Hall of Fame credentials.NBA News

Yes, if Grant Hill did came back to wear the familiar red and blue, it will be the perfect ending for this prodigal Piston. Heck, he may very well join Ben Wallace on the basketball court, the man he was traded for from Orlando.

Grant Hill is one of the greatest Pistons of all time and it is only right that he end his career at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
