2007 NASCAR Nextel Cup wars go to Indianapolis
Sunday, July 29th, 2007
It’s that time once again when the city of Indianapolis gets crowded with rednecks.
Yep, the 2007 NASCAR Nextel Cup season resumes this Sunday as the top NASCAR drivers of the world converge at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to race what they believe will get them the 2007 Nextel Cup title.
In six of the last nine NASCAR Nextel Cup seasons, the driver who wins the race in Indy went on to win the Nextel Cup title. Yep, apparently, Indianapolis has good karma going for the city and the rest of the NASCAR drivers who want that elusive Nextel Cup by season’s end will all be looking to become Indy’s new champion on Sunday.
This infamous ‘’Indy blessing'’ so to speak has amazingly continued on despite going through changes in the Nextel Cup championship points system.
It happened FOUR consecutive years, from 1998-2001 in the old points system and has happened in two of the three years in the ‘’Chase for the Nextel Cup'’ playoffs.
Winning the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard in Indy this weekend can prove to be vital for any driver’s quest for the Nextel Cup. Not only will a win award the driver as Indy’s new…

The Texas A&M Aggies know they won’t win any BCS title anytime soon so they are changing their shoes.
Sunday, July 29th, 2007
Whatever that means.
Yep, the Texas A&M Aggies, perhaps finally getting that they won’t win any BCS title anytime soon, especially in the coming 2007 NCAA college football season, have done something that might at least get some people from SportsCenter to talk about their godforsaken football program.
They are changing their shoes from Nike to Adidas. He he… Yep, that’s it. There’s really nothing else to talk about these guys anyway. Apparently, they feel that it’s all about the shoes as Texas A&M finally ended their relationship with Nike and moved on with the three stripes.
Adidas is currently stealing
Nike’s clients and the Aggies are not the only one who made the switch. Of course, Adidas is thrilled that they now have some of Nike’s boys with them coming to the brand new 2007 NCAA college football season.
‘’We believe college sport is very important,'’ Erich Stamminger said. Stamminger is the president and chief executive officer of the Adidas brand.
Adidas’ goal this year is to ‘’enter all school agreements with marquee programs that stand for performance, reflecting our…'’

Steve Francis is back in Houston to salvage NBA career
Saturday, July 28th, 2007
Well, what’s left of it anyway.
Yep, the ‘’Franchise'’ is back in Houston as Steve Francis signed a two-year deal with the Houston Rockets worth roughly $6 million. Yep, apparently, those guys from Houston were still willing to pay Stevie Franchise THAT much, despite the fact that he basically plays like a moron these days.
Steve Francis signed with the Houston Rockets in what Francis is hoping to be a successful return to this part of Texas where he virtually became a household name. For Francis’ sake, let’s sure hope this one works out for him for a change.
Since Francis left one-third of the
NBA’s dominant Texas triangle, he was never the same player we all loved to watch in the past. Francis was traded to the Orlando Magic for Tracy McGrady and although T-Mac became the Rockets’ new star in Houston, Stevie Franchise failed to live up to the hype in Florida.
Steve Francis was then traded to the New York Knicks to form what was suppose to be a quick and deadly backcourt combination with Stephon Marbury. However, instead of teaming up with Stephon, Francis barely played some games for the Knicks after being hampered with numerous injuries throughout his…

Gabriel Heinze wants out of Manchester United
Saturday, July 28th, 2007
Yep, it definitely looks like there’s some sort of dissension within the Manchester United side.
There are reports circulating that Gabriel Heinze wants to leave the 2007 English Premiership champions, Manchester United Red Devils, and transfer to another team say… Liverpool. Boy, if that happens, it will only heat up the rivalry between the two clubs more.
Manchester United big boss, Sir Alex Ferguson, believes that interference from agents is behind Heinze’s desire to leave the club. And you just know if Fergie knows that much, their rivals are into these rumors as well.
Liverpool FC big boss Rafael Benitez, (who hates anything Chelsea by the way…) are
rumored to have an offer for the Argentinian defender, Gabriel Heinze, around £7million. Yep, that sure is a lot of money already for a defender who simply can’t wear his hair right.
There are also reports that if Gabriel Heinze did complete the transfer from Man-U to Liverpool, the Red Devils will file some sort of legal action although I don’t know exactly what a sick fuck like Fergie plans to do once that happens.
STILL, Sir Alex Ferguson claims that Manchester United and Gabriel Heinze are just…

Heard about the Joey Harrington Curse in NFL Football?
Saturday, July 28th, 2007
Yep, there’s a new curse in the NFL these days and it doesn’t involve an NFL video game.
Joey Harrington is quickly becoming a ‘’human insurance policy'’ and coming to the brand new 2007-08 NFL football season, Harrington might find himself starting for his new team after doing the exact same thing with the Miami Dolphins last year.
You see, when Joey Harrington suited up for the Miami Dolphins last season, he was suppose to play backup to quarterback Daunte Culpepper. When Culpepper got injured, Harrington ended up starting for the Miami Dolphins for 11 games.
When the Atlanta Falcons signed
Harrington in this year’s offseason, he was suppose to play backup to Falcons franchise QB Michael Vick. But with the current dogfighting allegations thrown at Vick these days, Harrington just might end up on top of the pecking order yet again.
Is this now the new ‘’Joey Harrington curse?'’
‘’I would be lying to say I don’t think about it,'’ Joey Harrington said. ‘’As a backup quarterback I have to be ready. As a backup quarterback, you have to be ready at all times.'’
‘’It would be naive of me to say I’m completely oblivious to what’s going on, but it doesn’t change the way I would prepare for things. Whether these things were happening off the field or not, I still need to be prepared to play at any…'’

Former NBA Referee Tim Donaghy is excited to bet on the proposed NBA basketball team in Las Vegas
Saturday, July 28th, 2007
Maybe he is, if it will let him bet on the new Las Vegas NBA team in the gambling capital of the world.
He he… Yep, we’re still talking about that NBA referee who bets on the NBA games he officiates in. For all ya’ll who have been living under a rock lately, NBA referee Tim Donaghy is under investigation by the FBI for betting on the games he officiates. Yep, the bastard is calling fouls to cover the fucking spread.
Now, with the NBA’s latest and by far, BIGGEST scandal yet, Las Vegas mayor Oscar Goodman is confident that the issue won’t hurt the city’s bid for an NBA basketball team whatsoever.
Get this, mayor Goodman even
thinks that this issue will even strengthen Las Vegas’ goal to have its own NBA team. He he… It’s Las Vegas folks. Everybody gets weird whenever lots and lots of money are involved.
Las Vegas mayor Oscar Goodman said, ‘’I think that there’s going to be a public recognition that Las Vegas does monitor this kind of alleged activity. I don’t want anyone’s bad fortune to cause us good fortune, but I think it will cause people to look at Las Vegas in a light perhaps differently than they do, because we do in fact regulate this kind of activity.'’
Does that also mean NBA referee Tim Donaghy can…

Michael Vick drama begins while Atlanta Falcons watch
Friday, July 27th, 2007
THURSDAY was the day Michael Vick was in court to face the federal felony charges thrown at him after the dogfighting scandal.
At the same time, his Atlanta Falcons tried to get on with life as they started preparing for the 2007-08 NFL football season. The only problem was, some people just didn’t want them to move on as they hovered on top of the Falcons’ field on a plane, holding a banner that read, ‘’New Team Name? Dog-Killers?'’
Yep, the rest of the Atlanta Falcons just couldn’t do anything but watch in horror, probably realizing that the nightmare has merely begun. And with Michael Vick’s trial date set for November 26, that means Vick might not be playing any football at all this season. Oh yeah, that means NIGHTMARE will be all over the Atlanta Falcons both on and off the field too.
The media frenzy surrounding the Falcons quarterback’s day in court was just crazy. About two dozen television satellite trucks were there along with a hundred reporters and a hundred more protesters, all lining up for hours just to get a seat inside the court room where Michael Vick will most certainly make his presence felt.
‘’I take these charges very seriously and look forward to clearing my good name,'’ Michael Vick said in a statement read by his lawyer, Billy Martin. For all ya’ll who don’t know, Mr. Martin represented other big names in court before, the likes of former New Jersey Nets center Jayson Williams and ex-president Bill Clinton’s main squeeze, Monica Lewinsky.
‘’I respectfully ask all of you to hold your judgment until all of the…'’

Alex Rodriguez to hit No.500 Thursday (…or No.493… Who cares, New York Yankees will lose anyway…)
Friday, July 27th, 2007
And in case you were wondering, no, Alex Rodriguez is not taking steroids yet. Make that, they haven’t caught him so far.
The second biggest story going on in this 2007 MLB baseball season is the Alex Rodriguez home run countdown. Second only to the STILL controversial Barry Bonds derby.
For all ya’ll who missed it, the New York Yankees were having a game with the Baltimore Orioles, leading 8-6, last June 28 when rain came so hard that the umpires had to postpone it for another day. Well, they will resume play this Friday with two outs at the top of the 8th.
Of course, with Alex Rodriguez chasing No.500 to become the youngest MLB player to earn 500 home runs, this Friday’s game
will be somewhat confusing if ever A-Rod did put one away from the ballpark. Here’s why.
You see, Alex Rodriguez currently has 499 home runs after hitting a home run off Kansas City Royals pitcher Gil Meche last Wednesday. If A-Rod blasts one this Friday, it should be written down in the record books as No.500 right? Well, that’s not entirely true.
If A-Rod gets a home run in a game originally scheduled last June 28, technically, it should be No.493 considering that he only had 492 before the June 28 game against the Baltimore Orioles. If this…

McLaren is INNOCENT Much to the Dismay of Ferrari
Friday, July 27th, 2007
Yep, for all ya’ll Ferrari fans hoping that McLaren will get disqualified this season, too bad, McLaren was ruled innocent.
In what could be the biggest sham of all, McLaren-Mercedes, the same team who were using sensitive Ferrari material to get ahead of their rivals in the 2007 F1 season, was ruled innocent by the World Motor Sport Council after their FIA hearing last Thursday.
As expected, Ferrari and team boss Jean Todt was not pleased. Hell, Ferrari was so pissed off that the Maranello team felt that the World Motor Sport Council just legitimizes dishonest behavior.
Ferrari boss Jean Todt can’t understand why McLaren-Mercedes wasn’t penalized for stealing sensitive Ferrari designs during the 2007 F1 season. Yeah sure, McLaren was guilty of having in possession of confidential Ferrari documents but because of, according to the WMSC, ‘’insufficient evidence'’ no sanction was imposed.
Jeez… I can’t blame Ferrari for releasing a statement like this.
‘’Ferrari find it incomprehensible that violating the fundamental principle of sporting honesty does not have, as a logical and…'’

NASCAR says no to random Drug Testing
Friday, July 27th, 2007
After all the drug-related issues we have in sports these days, it was only a matter of time before it got NASCAR.
You know, the sport where athletes simply sit their asses flat on their seats, drive around in circles and then awards the one driver who can do all that the fastest. Surely, you don’t need steroids to do that right? Heck, those guys don’t even sweat for chrissake.
Well, the subject of drug testing in the 2007 NASCAR season was a result of Craftsman Truck Series driver Aaron Fike getting arrested and charged with possession of heroin and drug abuse instruments. The incident made two NASCAR Nextel Cup drivers, Kevin Harvick and Jeff Burton, to ask for random testing at least twice a year.
NASCAR has this policy that drug testing will only occur on reasonable suspicion and not randomly and these two NASCAR Nextel Cup drivers feel different.
‘’I think we owe it to the sponsors and the fans to 100 percent know that this is a clean environment,'’ Kevin Harvick said. ‘’It would eliminate a lot of those problems of the younger drivers that disrespect the sport and the system. Shame on NASCAR for not policing our garage better than what they police it right now.'’
Seems to me that Mr. Harvick has a beef with the…
