2007 Italian Serie A Season Begins This Weekend
Saturday, August 25th, 2007
Inter Milan rules Italy. Until somebody dethrones them this season of course.
Yep, the brand new 2007 Italian Serie A season begins this weekend and although the league is no longer the leaders in terms of high priced summer transfers, the Italian Serie A season still promises to be a rather exciting extravaganza (if you can really call soccer that…) to watch.
The league these days seem keen on exporting some of it’s best players to different parts of the globe. Reggina sent Rolando Bianchi to Manchester City for $17 million while Luca Toni is getting ready to play for Bayern Munich after Fiorentina dealt him for $15 million.
Wait, there’s more, Cristiano Lucarelli moved further east and signed for Shakhtar Donetsk in the Ukraine. Livorno picked up a little over $12 million in that deal while Inter Milan sold World Cup winning left back Fabio Grosso to Lyon in France for $10 million.
Inter Milan will come in as the defending Italian champions after scoring 97 championship points the last time we had Italian football. They simply dominated the Italian Serie A then after they had a whopping 22 points lead over the rest of the pack.
Returning to the Italian Serie A is Juventus, the reigning Italian Serie B champions. It definitely looks like these guys have finally moved on from the ‘’Calciopoli scandal'’ that relegated them to…

2007 F1 season resumes in Istanbul this Sunday
Saturday, August 25th, 2007
You just know it will be between McLaren teammates Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso again.
If you think otherwise, then I suggest you watch the last two races when Lewis Hamilton won in Hungary after Fernando Alonso won in Germany. Oh yeah sure, the current rivalry going on between the two makes this Sunday’s race in Turkey that much more interesting too.
For all ya’ll who have been living under a rock lately, McLaren-Mercedes teammates Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton have this hush hush rivalry that has been tearing the entire McLaren team apart.
Alonso wants to be a three-time F1 world champion and take the young Lewis Hamilton under his wing at the beginning of the 2007 F1 season. The only problem there was, Alonso, and probably along with the rest of McLaren-Mercedes, didn’t expect Hamilton to be this good.
For what it’s worth, Alonso is looking forward to resume this year’s race for the title in Istanbul this Sunday and he knows that whoever between him and Lewis Hamilton comes out on top, it will be the McLaren team who’ll be the real winners. Of course, believing what this guy says is like trusting the U.S. government.
‘’It is always great to have a break and re-charge the batteries, but it is fantastic to be getting back out on track in Turkey,'’ Fernando Alonso said.
‘’I have a solid points total in the drivers’ world championship and I am aiming to build on that considerably in Istanbul. We are in a strong position in both championships and there are a lot of…'’

Time hounds Philadelphia Eagles, Donovan McNabb
Saturday, August 25th, 2007
Can the Philadelphia Eagles win with a bunch of aging veterans?
Well, the Miami Heat did it so maybe the Philadelphia Eagles can right? Um… Not quite. You see, the NFL is not the NBA and although an old and pathetic team like the Miami Heat can win a title in basketball, old and pathetic teams will get their asses CREAMED in NFL football.
And sad to say, such is the fate of the aging veterans within the Philadelphia Eagles contingent and coming to the brand new 2007-08 NFL football season, the Eagles’ window of opportunity is slowly becoming smaller and smaller.
Probably the best chance these Eagles had is when they had a healthy Donovan McNabb throwing the football to the controversial but effective Terrell Owens. Hell, these guys even got to dance
on the biggest stage of them all, Super Bowl. Unfortunately, McNabb and Owens didn’t have the chemistry to finally win one for Philly.
This year, we see a Philadelphia Eagles team of veterans who are probably at the closing stages of their respective careers. Free safety Brian Dawkins, defensive end Jevon Kearse, OLB Takeo Spikes, offensive tackles Jon Runyan and William Thomas and even quarterback Donovan McNabb have all left their 20s behind and are probably contemplating about what’s life after football.
Oh yeah, the Eagles organization sure looks like they’re preparing for the worst too. With merely weeks before the 2007-08 NFL football season begins, they finally let go of linebacker Jeremiah Trotter, the heart and soul of the team. Yep, Trotter sure is a fan favorite in Philadelphia but apparently, the Eagles can…

Gabriel Heinze leaves English Premiership champions Manchester United to join Real Madrid
Saturday, August 25th, 2007
Aw fuck, what will happen to the Manchester United Red Devils now?
Yep, as the 2007 English Premiere League season heats up, one’s English Premiership season ends as Gabriel Heinze leaves England to play for Real Madrid in the 2007 Spanish Premier League.
After losing Wayne Rooney indefinitely, the defending English Premiership champions have now lost Gabriel Heinze for good after the now former Man-U defender agreed to an £8.1million move to Real Madrid.
This is after Heinze was still contemplating on launching an appeal against the league’s decision to block his preferred move to Man-U rivals, Liverpool FC. That’s when the Spanish La Liga champions made their move.
The Argentinian defender will be signing a four-year contract and will now be ‘’immediately incorporated'’ into Bernd Schuster’s rotation. Well, that’s what Real Madrid claims anyway.
Gabriel Heinze was still favoring the Liverpool move heavily but with the transfer deadline of August 31 nears, he’s happy that he’s finally out of England.
Obviously, Liverpool FC big boss Rafael Benitez didn’t like how the English Premiere League simply denied his team of signing a star like Gabriel Heinze and taking him away from the English Premiership champions, Manchester United.
Of course, he knows too that nothing is…

Felix Trinidad and Roy Jones Jr. to fight on January 26
Friday, August 24th, 2007
I guess they just want to give us (those who care anyway…) the fight we almost missed to see.
Yep, Felix Trinidad will be making his return to the squared circle to fight the man once dubbed as ‘’the best pound for pound fighter in the world,'’ Roy Jones Jr. This fight was initially scheduled in 2001 but thanks to Bernard Hopkins knocking out Trinidad silly, it never happened.
Boxing promoter extraordinaire Don King, being the businessman that he is, announced that we will finally see this epic bout between the two greatest fighters of their era.
Two future Hall of Famers Felix Trinidad and Roy Jones Jr. will meet in a pay-per-view fight on January 26 at Madison Square Garden.
Let’s hope Felix doesn’t run into Bernard Hopkins this time around.
‘’We just made this fight. It’s a fight made in boxing heaven,'’ Don King said. ‘’We’re gonna start the year off with a bang.'’
Although both Felix Trinidad and Roy Jones Jr. are…

Who’s your pick to win the 2007 English Premiership?
Friday, August 24th, 2007
With Manchester United losing Wayne Rooney for maybe two months, it could be a foot race for the Premiership this year.
Yep, every single football club in the 2007 English Premiere League season probably now has a chance to go and grab the Premiership. Of course, with or without Wayne Rooney, Manchester United is still one of the best clubs in the world. However, losing Rooney STILL is a huge blow for Man-U’s chances.
Probably your best bet to dethrone Man-U this season is the very team the Red Devils succeeded en route to their championship year last time.
Chelsea FC can win the Premiership still.
That’s saying despite the fact that they might probably lose their impact players, Michael Essien and Didier Drogba, to the coming African Cup of Nations.
Liverpool is probably the most improved football club among all the other clubs in the Premiere League this year. With the way they just spent butt-loads of cash in the offseason to sign the likes of Ryan Babel and Fernando Torres, anything less than the Premiership is unacceptable.
While Liverpool is the most improved football club in England, Arsenal could be…

Felipe Massa, the latest F1 driver to guarantee title
Friday, August 24th, 2007
What else is new? Another F1 driver is making a guarantee that he’ll win the title by season’s end.
Yep, in what has been a chaotic and controversial 2007 F1 season, Ferrari driver No.2, Felipe Massa, claims that he’s gearing up for a late push for the F1 world championship. (Whatever the hell that means…)
As of press time, Felipe Massa sits in fourth place with only six more races to go. Yep, time is indeed running out for the Brazilian sensation but hell, everybody’s making all these guarantees so it was just only a matter of time before he makes his.
Felipe Massa has 59 championship points, behind Ferrari teammate and third place man Kimi Raikkonen who has 60.
The two Ferrari drivers both trail the two McLaren drivers, Lewis Hamilton and two-time defending F1 world champion Fernando Alonso, who has 80 and 73 points respectively.
Coming to the 2007 Turkish Grand Prix in Istanbul this Sunday, Felipe Massa believes he has evolved from a first time F1 driver last year to a title contender when he returns to the very track he had his first ever…

A Tired David Beckham flew in from England to lead the Los Angeles Galaxy to a 3-0 loss to Chivas USA
Friday, August 24th, 2007
David Beckham did everything he could, even flying all the way from Europe back to Cali. He still lost. Too bad eh?
Last Thursday, David Beckham flew from Europe to Los Angeles to lead the Los Angeles Galaxy in an MLS soccer match against Chivas USA. Unfortunately for Becks, there was no hero’s welcome this time as Chivas simply dominated L.A., 3-0.
Oh yeah, that wasn’t the only thing that got David Beckham pissed too. Becks got somewhat, a little feisty after Jesse Marsch of Chivas USA tackled him from behind. At least the guy is finally showing some emotion since arriving from Real Madrid to play in the 2007 MLS soccer season right?
According to Jesse Marsche, the stunt he pulled on Beckham was a retaliation somewhat of a recent play he claims Beckham pulled on him. Somebody tell this guy that he just became the most hated man not only in L.A., but in all of England.
‘’He kind of got a piece of me the play before that and so it was somewhat of a retaliation, somewhat of a tactical foul because he was on the break,'’ Jesse Marsch said. ‘’It was harder than I would have liked it to…'’

Can Team U.S.A. win 2007 FIBA Americas Tournament?
Thursday, August 23rd, 2007
If you’re a fan of the fabled U.S.A. Dream Team of Michael Jordan and company, then you must just be puking every time you see these guys.
Sorry guys for the somewhat short break from our own little page the past few days. All of us passed out from drinking waaay too much booze. Well, we’re back now (if you haven’t noticed yet…) and unfortunately for you, you’re still reading this shit.
Yep, the domination of the United States of America in international basketball competitions such as the 2007 FIBA Americas tournament is now long gone since these American basketball ‘’superstars'’
started to figure they’d rather get their ass screwed while getting paid on an NBA basketball court than represent their home country against some country like Argentina.
That is, sad to say, what Team U.S.A. has become. Hell, we couldn’t even call these guys the ‘’Dream Team'’ anymore since it’s no dream of anyone to finish third, fourth or fifth. With that said, let’s take a quick look at the Americans’ chances of winning this international tournament for a change. Oh yeah, we’ll look at other country’s chances too.
Team Argentina. Yep, these guys are the current kings of…

Sir Gerry gets Gold in Grandiose Gimcrack Grounds (and basically any other word that starts with the letter G…)
Thursday, August 23rd, 2007
Oh yeah, did I mention that those GAMBLERS who GAMBLED on SIR GERRY won a lot of G’S too? He he…
Yep, it sure was a lot of G’s going on at the 2007 Ireland Gimcrack Stakes Wednesday when a two-year-old named Sir Gerry came from last to first that made us all talk about horse racing in Ireland for crying out loud.
Sir Gerry, after it looked like jockey Jamie Spencer was contented with last place trailing the rest of the pack in the early stages of the six-furlong affair, made a rather mad dash to the finish, overtaking seven opponents in the final two furlongs to win by three-quarters of a length over his closest competitor, Great Barrier Reef.
Now I don’t know how they name their horses over there but jeez… they sure have a rather interesting way of naming their colts. Take these guys for instance, Art Advisor and Nacho Libre.
Yep, Art Advisor and Nacho Libre set the quick early pace up front while Swiss Franc, the same horse who was suppose to win the 2007 Ireland Gimcrack Stakes, trailed both of them at third.
Swiss Franc sure looked like he was ready to assume control of the race when Great Barrier Reef and Sir Gerry closed in on the leaders.
If there was one horse who sure looked like he will have the improbable win at the…
