2007-08 NFL Football Week 9 Betting Picks

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

Jeez… Did you saw how dominant the New England Patriots were last week? 52 points! My… It doesn’t get any better than that.

Yep, the Patriots continue their undefeated streak this 2007-08 NFL football season, beating down the Redskins, 52-7, last Sunday. The Patriots are now 8-0 and are still on the running to become only the second NFL team to go through a season perfect since the Dolphins did it back in 1972.

While it was the Redskins last Sunday, the New England Patriots could be facing their toughest test yet this season as they meet the also undefeated Indianapolis Colts in what should be the biggest match-up of the season this Sunday on Week 9.

Randy MossThese two teams probably have the biggest rivalry in football today and both teams will try to put a road block on each other’s campaign by dealing the other team the very thing they don’t want these days.

A loss.

The 7-0 Indianapolis Colts, although still perfect as well like their rivals from Boston, are hovering under the radar if you will with the rest of us probably fixated at these Patriots. However, the Colts claim they like it that way as that will probably let them play without any pressure whatsoever from the media. Well, that’s what they think anyway.

The last time these two teams met, it was in the 2007 AFC championship game where the Colts, led by Peyton Manning of course, fueled a…

Allan Houston ends comeback bid with New York Knicks

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

seth-edward-oneal.jpgYes, even before it had the chance to get started.

He he… In what turned out to be one confusing series of days in New York before this 2007-08 NBA basketball season started, rumors about Allan Houston suiting up his familiar No.20 jersey in New York City again began to come out.

And while the rest of the New York Knicks fans were probably looking forward to it, because of the fact that they don’t really have something to be happy about these days, Allan Houston ended it because it turns out that Isiah Thomas had no intention whatsoever letting him play in the first place.

Allan HoustonHee hee… Oh it’s true, it’s DAMN true. New York Knicks head coach, Isiah Thomas, still fresh from his ordeal with Anucha Browne Sanders who sued him for sexual harassment, was never really going to let Allan Houston return on the court because the New York Knicks roster, as fucked up as it already is, already had the maximum of 15 players under contract.

And he only invited Allan Houston to camp because of, get this…

Fernando Alonso claims Kimi Raikkonen deserves the 2007 F1 title… He he… Yup, we’re serious…

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

He he… Then again, he’s probably just happy about the fact that Hamilton didn’t win it.

In what has been a 2007 F1 season fueled by the teammate rivalry between Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton, the two-time F1 world champion claims that this year’s world champion, that being Kimi Raikkonen of course, deserves to win the title.

Nobody probably expected the fiery Spanish title contender to say that after coming so close from winning the championship for the third straight season. Nevertheless, Fernando Alonso is happy about the result because after all, Lewis Hamilton didn’t win it and McLaren - Mercedes ended the season without any titles to show for whatsoever.

And in case you haven’t been paying attention lately, the two entities Fernando Alonso, although he’s not admitting it yet, hates the most in Formula One this season is his teammate Lewis Hamilton, and his team McLaren – Mercedes.

To see both finish without any titles is probably enough for him, even if it costs ending his two-year era as the No.1 F1 driver in the world.

‘’I said many times who has more points in the last race deserves the championship, so in this case Kimi did a great Championship. It was up and down for everyone, at the end he deserves it, so…'’

2007-08 NFL Football Week 8 Betting Picks

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

Let’s stop looking at the undefeated Patriots and Colts for a while.

While the Patriots and the Colts each have their respective undefeated seasons still intact, we come into Week 8 of the 2007-08 NFL football season still with two teams with no wins whatsoever.

Yes, the St. Louis Rams and the Miami Dolphins welcome the eight week of football still looking for their first win of the season. Funny huh? While the Pats and the Colts simply continue to dominate on that football field, these two teams continue to let the rest of the league gang-rape them over and over again.

For the St. Louis Rams, they have the surprising Cleveland Browns visiting Edward Jones Dome, this Sunday. If this was two years ago, I’d probably say the Rams will simply trash the Browns. But it’s 2007 and this year, the Rams suck. Simple as that.

For what it’s worth, the Rams will probably be having their star running back, Steven Jackson back. However, they’d be facing a red hot Cleveland Browns team that finally found something that works. That my friend is third-year quarterback Derek Anderson.

The first time we saw Anderson, he was looking quite good in what already was a lost season last year in a game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Now that…

How Bad will the Heat SUCK in Miami this NBA Season?

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

seth-edward-oneal.jpgAnd as much as Pat Riley probably will hope I’m referring to the weather there when he reads this, I’m not.

The Miami Heat SUCK. Plain and simple. They suck last year when they were eliminated from the playoffs in the first goddamn round. And in this 2007-08 NBA basketball season, guess what, they’ll probably suck even worse.

In what should’ve been a tune-up for NBA teams, the NBA preseason sure was ice cold to the Heat (pardon the pun…) as they went on, running aimlessly on the court to put up, get this, NO WINS WHATSOEVER. Hee hee…

Yes, the Miami Heat just kept on losing in preparation for the NBA season and although the preseason has no indication whatsoever on how the team will do when the regular season officially starts, it does give you a clear idea what to expect.

Miami Heat head coach Pat Riley, (yes, the sick fuck decided to coach yet again…) don’t have any answers whatsoever of what’s wrong with his team. In one preseason loss, Riley said he was looking for the right combination on the court and he found none.

‘’I'm still trying to find something I can go with,'’ Pat Riley said before the…

2007-08 NFL Football Season goes to London as Giants and Dolphins play at Wembley Stadium

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

Probably because these guys want to let silly Europeans know what ‘’football'’ is all about.

And in case you didn’t get that, let me break it to you gently. You see, football means an entirely different thing in Europe than in the United States, where the NFL is from obviously. For some reason, what’s football for Europe means soccer in the U.S. which makes you wonder what the heck will these Europeans be calling the game when the NFL gets there this 2007-08 NFL football season.

Hee hee… And yes, the NFL will be live in Europe as the New York Giants and the Miami Dolphins play their Week 8 match-up straight from London. This would be the league’s first regular season game played there, second regular season game abroad as the NFL usually have these international adventures, if you will, only for the preseason.

The first NFL regular season game played abroad was the game between the Arizona Cardinals and the San Francisco Giants back in October 2, 2005 in Mexico. The Cardinals simply trashed the 49ers, 31-14, it was the fourth game of the regular season for both teams.

A crowd of 103,467 gathered in Azteca Stadium for it.

The NFL will be hoping for the same success when the New York Giants and the Miami Dolphins dance for London. The Giants are red-hot winning…

2007 NCAA College Football Week 9 Betting Picks

Saturday, October 27th, 2007

Apparently, it’s not only the NFL that has teams still in pursuit of perfection.

But then again, the ranking system in the 2007 NCAA college football season is so fucked up, teams have no choice but to just try win all their games. Lose one and they’ll see their hopes of playing for the BCS national title fade faster than Kobe Bryant’s wicked jumper.

This year in college football, the Ohio State Buckeyes (go Buckeyes!) sit on top of the food chain with an undefeated record of 8-0 while the Arizona State Sun Devils (of all teams…) and the Kansas City Jayhawks are still climbing with their respective perfect seasons still intact. Who will remain undefeated this Week 9 of the college football season? Of course, we just have to start with the No.1 team of the nation, the Buckeyes from Ohio State.

While Greg Oden is postponing his anticipated dominance in the 2007-08 NBA basketball season, the Ohio State Buckeyes are not postponing anything this season. They’re that eager to return to the BCS national championship game after the Florida Gators shocked them last time they were there.

The Buckeyes visit the Penn State Nittany Lions at Beaver Stadium Saturday and with a ridiculously powerful Buckeye defense ready to rock University Park, I’m not expecting the Lions to be shocking anyone come game time.

Hell, the Ohio State Buckeyes are coming into this…

Lawyer Ron, 2007 Breeders’ Cup Classic Favorite

Saturday, October 27th, 2007

seth-edward-oneal.jpgYep, this time, it’s Lawyer Ron, the heavy favorite to win this year’s Breeders’ Cup main event.

This year’s Breeders’ Cup betting extravaganza culminates with the 2007 Breeders’ Cup Classic and from all the favorites to win the main race, Lawyer Ron tops ‘em all, beating Kentucky Derby champ Street Sense and Preakness winner Curlin.

A runaway winner in the Whitney Handicap and the Woodward Stakes, Lawyer Ron comes to the 2007 Breeders’ Cup Classic as the main pick to win and bring in the most amount of dough.

One oddsmaker at Monmouth Park, Brad Thomas, is not surprised. ‘’Lawyer Ron was made the favorite because of his consistent excellence in his last three races. It was very difficult to separate the first three horses,'’ Thomas said referring to Lawyer Ron, Street Sense and Curlin.

Monmouth Park’s Breeders’ Cup wagering warfare this Saturday will be a nine-horse field with Lawyer Ron a 5-2 bet to win it followed by Street Sense and Curlin, both picked with 3-1 odds.

Any Given Saturday follows the top three with only…

Can Rockies retaliate in Game 3 and beat Red Sox when the 2007 MLB World Series shifts to Colorado?

Saturday, October 27th, 2007

Game 3. You just know the Rockies have to win this one.

Otherwise, they will go down 3-0 to this Boston Red Sox team focused on winning the 2007 MLB World Series to become champions of the world once again.

The Colorado Rockies will be home for games 3, 4 and 5 beginning this Saturday. After going down 2-1 in Game 2 to the Boston Red Sox, the Rockies are probably happy that they’re back at home, hell, they won 11 of their last 12 home games anyway.

Yes, the Colorado Rockies are at their best when they play at home and they will certainly need all the home cooking they can get for Game 3. And for their sake, being at home in Colorado is definitely a huge home advantage.

With the altitude, the humidor and the spacious outfield, the Boston Red Sox will probably need some time to get used to all this. For the Rockies, this is home and of course, they’ve played here more than any team this season.

The Colorado Rockies won some of their biggest games at home as…

THREE Betting Picks for the 2007 Breeders’ Cup Classic

Friday, October 26th, 2007

This Friday, the 2007 Breeders’ Cup World Thoroughbred Championships begin.

Either that or we’ll just be so glad that this whole thing will finally start for us to see the end of it just so we can move on with our lives and watch more football. For now, the infamous Breeders’ Cup betting money train will be moving and whether you like it or not, it’ll take some space of the sporting world this weekend.

And as this whole thing gets going, the contenders for the highly anticipated (is it really anticipated?..) 2007 Breeders’ Cup Classic gets ready to win the latest horse racing event to give their heir a ridiculously high price tag for the next three generations.

2007 Breeders Cup ClassicOf course, to give Breeders’ Cup wagering fans another reason why they should keep on gambling too. And just for the record, I’m not saying that in a bad way because after all, THIS IS a ‘’gambling guide.'’

With that said, three horses stand out in the 2007 Breeders’ Cup main event. That’s Street Sense, Curlin and Hard Spun. Yes, these three thoroughbreds were the stars of the concluded Triple Crown series too. Can one of these horses win the Breeders’ Cup Classic? Read on.

The 2007 Kentucky Derby champion, Street Sense, is…
