Boston Red Sox take 2-0 lead in 2007 MLB World Series
Friday, October 26th, 2007
Two wins away, that’s how far the Red Sox is from winning the World Series.
In what has been a dramatic comeback in the playoffs, the Red Sox are now two wins away from becoming world champions after beating the Colorado Rockies, 2-1, in Game 2 to take a 2-0 lead in the 2007 MLB World Series.
Yep, the Boston Red Sox, after almost eliminated by the Cleveland Indians in the ALCS thrice, found their way to move on to the championship series and take an early 2-0 lead over the Colorado Rockies.
Sure, many of you probably thought the Red Sox will get here back when the season was just kicking off but after falling to the Cleveland Indians 3-1 in the ALCS, none of you probably expected the Red Sox to do this and still be this good.
While Josh Beckett was the man for Boston in Game 1, pitching was again the key in Game 2 as Curt Schilling dominated the Colorado Rockies bats, holding them to four singles and two walks in 5 1/3 innings.
The bullpen was huge for Boston as well as they got 3 2/3 innings of shutout relief from…

Cleveland Browns quarterback Derek Anderson to Torch the struggling St. Louis Rams on Sunday
Friday, October 26th, 2007
For all ya’ll who don’t know who Derek Anderson is, read on.
The first time Derek Anderson set foot on a football field, it was against the Pittsburgh Steelers in what was already a lost season for the Cleveland Browns last year. He showed then signs of brilliance, making you wonder why the Browns didn’t give the guy the starting spot then and there.
Well, he has the starting job in Cleveland this 2007-08 NFL football season and guess what, they’re winning. Heck, Derek Anderson is now one of the top-ranked quarterbacks in the league, leading his Browns in pursuit of the AFC North title.
Yep, the Browns have a chance of winning the AFC North with a decent 3-3 record. They are only a half-game back behind division rivals Pittsburgh Steelers and as long as Anderson keeps on throwing those long balls, the Browns might find their way on top.
This week, the Browns travel to Edward Jones Dome to play the struggling St. Louis Rams. The Rams are still looking for their first win of the season but now, they have a somewhat slight glimmer of hope with the returning Steven Jackson.
STILL, the Browns are not fazed and they’re claiming Jackson’s return will…

Impossible to beat the Patriots this 2007-08 NFL Season
Thursday, October 25th, 2007
Why? Read on.
In case you’ve been living under a rock lately or just too blinded by the silliness this Breeders’ Cup hype brings, the New England Patriots haven’t skip a beat this 2007-08 NFL football season making them only one of two teams still perfect this year.
Yes, the New England Patriots, along with the Super Bowl champions, Indianapolis Colts, are still on that long and winding road to matching the mark set by the 1972 Miami Dolphins of going through a season undefeated. And if I had to choose one between the two AFC rivals, I would have to go with the Patriots accomplishing that goal by season’s end.
This New England Patriots team is, quite simply, impossible to defend. For example, in cases the defense is dumb enough to try blitzing Tom Brady, the guy actually thrives against blitz packages. He has a quarterback rating of 146.2 and nine touchdowns against the blitz, making any defense think twice before blitzing No.12.
The New England Patriots also lead the league in both 10-play drives and five-minute drives. These guys have scored on all but one and the only other team that is as efficient won’t surprise you. The Colts.
New England is also the only team in the NFL that…

Oprah WILL RACE with horses at the 2007 Breeders’ Cup
Thursday, October 25th, 2007
And mind you, I’m not even kidding.
Yes, Oprah would be one of the contenders racing for Breeders’ Cup betting money beginning this Friday and as interesting as it would be if we’re talking about the same Oprah who has been wasting a whole lot of TV time through the years, unfortunately, we’re not.
Oprah Winney, (and I have a hunch that they got the horse’s name from Oprah Winfrey…) will be one of the horses competing at the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint. I don’t know why her owners gave her that name but I’m just guessing it’s probably from watching too much of the Oprah Winfrey show.
And as expected, Oprah Winney WAS honored at the Oprah Winfrey show last October 23 when they featured segments of the horse’s racing career. What’s that career you ask?
Well for one, Oprah Winney has 14 races under her belt. She just won the Barbara Fritchie Breeders’ Cup H earlier this year coming to the inaugural $1 million Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint on Friday.
And just like Oprah Winfrey, Oprah Winney will be giving…

Can the Colorado Rockies beat the Boston Red Sox in Game 2 to tie the 2007 MLB World Series 1-1?
Thursday, October 25th, 2007
It was all red in Game 1, leaving the Rockies… well… ROCKED.
The 2007 MLB World Series was finally underway as the Boston Red Sox, this season’s comeback team yet again, simply trashed the Colorado Rockies, 13-1, to take the 1-0 lead in this best-of-seven affair for baseball’s richest prize.
The Boston Red Sox were probably still fuming with momentum after shocking the Cleveland Indians, then leading 3-1 and one win away from advancing to the World Series, winning three straight games to end the Tribe’s season in seven games.
Facing a well-rested Colorado Rockies team in Game 1 of the World Series, the Red Sox were simply on fire while exposing how rusty this Colorado team really was. Hell, Boston jumped on Colorado right from the get-go, scoring three runs in the very first inning to take the early 3-0 lead.
The Colorado Rockies did answer with a run of their own at the top of the 2nd inning. That, however, would be the only thing they’d be scoring in Game 1 as…

Jaguars to beat the Colts on Monday Night Football?
Monday, October 22nd, 2007
It’s Monday night and once again, were treated with a match-up that’s suppose to ‘’culminate'’ this week’s crop of games.
Last week’s Monday night game was a rather pathetic attempt to do just that but this Monday though should be different. After all, this is the first time this 2007-08 NFL football season the defending Super Bowl champions Indianapolis Colts will be playing on Monday Night Football and since it’ll be against division rivals Jacksonville Jaguars, we’re in for a treat indeed.
The Indianapolis Colts are currently lording over the AFC South with a still unblemished 5-0 record.
The Jacksonville Jaguars, on the other hand, are only a game back and when they dance with the Colts this Monday night, they will be playing for the division lead.
One thing going for the Jacksonville Jaguars coming to Monday Night Football would have to be the fact that the Colts seem to have all sorts of problems every single time they meet them on the field.
Sure, the Colts won seven of their last ten meetings with Jacksonville, but none of them were that convincing, to say…

Kimi Raikkonen wins F1 World Title in Brazil
Monday, October 22nd, 2007
Perhaps nobody expected the F1 season to end like this.
In what has been one of the most dramatic years in Formula One racing, Kimi Raikkonen ended the 2007 F1 season dancing the hot samba in Brazil as the new F1 world champion.
Yes, Kimi Raikkonen, despite their slow start to the season and all the controversies surrounding him and the rest of the Ferrari team this year, simply snatched the 2007 F1 world title away from McLaren.
McLaren - Mercedes teammates, Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso were 1 and 2 respectively for the drivers’ championship with Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen at a distant third. Kimi needed more
than a few things to happen to win the championship in Brazil and somehow, he pulled it off.
How did he do it? If you’re a Kimi fan, you can start thanking Felipe Massa now.
Felipe Massa was starting from P1 and was leading in his home grand prix in Brazil, looking to end the season with a dramatic win in front of his countrymen. But with his Ferrari teammate Kimi Raikkonen competing for the drivers’ title, you just know that Felipe will let Kimi pass him some time right?
Fernando Alonso was at third place and with Kimi at…

Red Sox beat Indians, advance to 2007 MLB World Series
Monday, October 22nd, 2007
Jeez… They did it again.
MLB baseball’s comeback team, that’s the Boston Red Sox, did it again. After going down 3-1 to the Cleveland Indians, the Red Sox won three straight games, winning their third one in Game 7 to advance to the 2007 MLB World Series against the Colorado Rockies.
Facing elimination for the third straight game, the Boston Red Sox simply dominated the stunned Cleveland Indians in Game 7, winning in convincing fashion, 11-2, to become the 2007 American League champions.
You can almost feel how disappointed the entire ‘’Tribe'’ in Cleveland is right now after coming so close from advancing to baseball’s biggest stage. Hell, they had three opportunities to put Boston away and they wasted each one.
Boston’s most expensive import, that’s Japanese pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka who the Red Sox bought at a whopping $103 million in the offseason, was the star this time. Dice-K (Matsuzaka’s ‘’Western'’ nickname…) retired Cleveland’s first eight…

So what’s next for Lewis Hamilton after watching the F1 world title slip from his grip in Brazil?
Monday, October 22nd, 2007
I can only imagine how pissed Lewis Hamilton must’ve been after the final race in Sao Paolo.
The odds were in favor of Lewis Hamilton to become the first rookie F1 world champion after the 2007 F1 season. Leading with 107 championship points before Brazil, all he had to do was finish better than both Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen. Nobody expected gearbox problems in his McLaren to spoil all that.
Yes, Lewis Hamilton, the odds-on favorite to win the world championship, failed to finish what he started.
After crashing out of the race in China, his problems continued during the final race of
the season in Brazil, letting Kimi Raikkonen win the race and become world champion for the first time in the Iceman’s career.
Hamilton finished 7th, while his McLaren - Mercedes teammate and rival, Fernando Alonso, finished 3rd, enabling both to finish with 109 points respectively behind Raikkonen’s 110.
With an end to the season like that, any normal man would just probably break down and walk away after losing the world championship that way. But this is Lewis Hamilton and by the way, it’s only his first year in F1 anyway.

2007-08 NFL Football Week 7 Betting Picks
Sunday, October 21st, 2007
It has been seven weeks of NFL football folks and we still have two teams yet to taste defeat on that football field.
Yep, the New England Patriots and the Indianapolis Colts, two rivals from the AFC, are still undefeated and are still on that road to match the mark set by the 1972 Miami Dolphins, that being finishing a single season PERFECT. And as the 2007-08 NFL football season heads for Week 7, you can bet your ass we’ll be watching these two teams and wait who’ll blink first.
The New England Patriots, the heavy favorites to win it all this season, ironically have the now pathetic Miami Dolphins on Sunday as they try to keep their bid to match the mark set by these Dolphins’ 1972 counterparts alive.
This year’s version of the Miami Dolphins is ridiculously pathetic. Let me get that one out first. While the ‘72 Dolphins went for a season undefeated, these Dolphins are going through a season winless. Hee hee… They are currently hobbling at a humiliating 0-6 stand, letting them become only one of two teams yet to taste a win this year. The St. Louis Rams being the other one.
Expect the New England Patriots to bitch-slap the Miami Dolphins -13.5 at home.
On Sunday Night Football, the Pittsburgh Steelers visit INVESCO Field to play the Denver Broncos. After a disappointing season following their Super Bowl win, this year’s…
