Dallas Cowboys V Green Bay Packers for NFC Throne

Thursday, November 29th, 2007

It’s on this Thursday night.

And although we still have more than enough football left to determine the NFC champions this 2007-08 NFL football season, whoever wins this game between the Green Bay Packers and the Dallas Cowboys should be the heavy favorites to represent the NFC against the AFC champions (I reckon it’s New England…) in the Super Bowl.

Both the Green Bay Packers and the Dallas Cowboys come into this Thursday Night Football game at 10-1. Both teams have also bounced back from the disappointments they had last season, with the Packers missing the postseason and the Cowboys with that botched field goal attempt in their divisional playoff encounter against Seattle.

Tony RomoSpeaking of which, even with Tony Romo fumbling that football in the postseason that virtually ended their campaign for last season’s Super Bowl, the Dallas Cowboys STILL went with the guy, signing him for a lucrative contract extension.

And it looks like its paying off too as they are now looking at a maturing Romo, leading the Dallas Cowboys to a 10-1 record atop the NFC East.

On Thursday night, Romo will be facing the very guy many people are comparing him too. Yep, Romo is being compared to Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre with the way he…

2007 NCAA College Football Week 14 Gambling Guide

Thursday, November 29th, 2007

seth-edward-oneal.jpgIt’s Week 14 and we all know how big these games we have this week are.

It’s the final week of the 2007 NCAA college football season and the two teams to play for the BCS national championship depends on the outcome of two huge games.

No.1 Missouri Tigers and No.2 West Virginia Mountaineers are in no way locks for the national championship game yet. Especially if a loss to either one of them will elevate No.3 Ohio State Buckeyes back to the championship picture against some other team OTHER THAN Missouri and West Virginia. Crazy eh?

First, let’s take a look at the Missouri Tigers. They have a talented Oklahoma Sooners team looking to spoil their plans of a national title this year.

Oklahoma SoonersDuring their last meeting, the Oklahoma Sooners defeated Missouri, 41-31, for the Tigers’ first and only loss this year.

I reckon these Sooners will be coming into their game this Saturday, pretty confident that they can pull it off again. Even though the Missouri Tigers team they’ll be facing is now ranked as the No.1 team of the nation.

The No.2 West Virginia Mountaineers have rivals Pittsburgh Panthers, trying to stop them from a trip to the BCS national championship game. Dubbed as the ‘’Backyard Brawl,'’ this rivalry game between West Virginia and Pittsburgh always has been…

Surely, the Boston Celtics can beat the Knicks right?

Thursday, November 29th, 2007

After Boston’s latest loss, I’m not sure anymore.

After 13 games for the Boston Celtics this 2007-08 NBA basketball season, the guys in green suffered only their second loss of the year last Tuesday in overtime, 109-104.

But what’s troubling is how the Boston Celtics failed to stop a one-man Cleveland Cavaliers team that probably has it’s second best scoring option out with an injury. (I’m talking about Larry Hughes in case you didn’t get that…)

Hell, it was even harder to Paul Piercewatch how Drew Gooden, someone who simply can’t, or rather DON’T drain jumpers, shoot over Garnett’s outstretched arms and somehow find the bottom of the hoop.

Jeez… For a team that leads the league in defense, how can Boston let LeBron James, who they know will get the basketball every single time the Cleveland cavaliers march down the court, get a game-high 38 points?

Don’t get me wrong, I still have love for the new Boston team but watching these guys lose to a pathetic team like…

Chicago Bears running back Cedric Benson out for the rest of their pathetic 2007-08 NFL Football Season

Thursday, November 29th, 2007

Yes, the Chicago Bears just went from fucked to really REALLY fucked now.

As the Bears continue to go for a wild card spot in the playoffs, trying to salvage what’s left of their campaign, things just got worse after they learned that star running back Cedric Benson is now out for the rest of the 2007-08 NFL football season.

Yep, apparently, their 37-34 win over the Denver Broncos last Sunday wasn’t enough to bring the hopes of the Chicago Bears fans up and running again. Losing a star running back to a season-ending injury in a league that demands a solid running game will definitely do that.

Cedric Benson took over the Cedric Bensonstarting running back spot in the Bears depth chart after Thomas Jones was traded to the New York Jets. Last Sunday, he came up with an amazing 21-yard run, breaking free from the line to electrify the crowd at Soldier Field.

But all that ended with one huge gasp as Cedric Benson landed hurt after Denver Broncos safety, Hamza Abdullah, knocked Benson down to the ground so hard, Benson had to be carted off it.

‘’It’s tough when you lose your starting tailback. Cedric went down with a season-ending injury, which is a tough break,'’ Chicago Bears head coach Lovie Smith said a day after the Bears came up with…

Who’s No.1 in the College Football BCS Rankings now?

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

Right now, it’s the Tigers (not LSU but Missouri…) but you can bet your ass that will change again some time this week.

Yes, it has been a rather crazy 2007 NCAA college football season. Last weekend, not one but two teams saw their top-ranked asses make its freefall down the ladder. He he… Story of the year huh?

Last weekend, the LSU Tigers and the Kansas Jayhawks were the ones who suffered shocking (but trendy…) upsets as LSU was upset by the Arkansas Jayhawks while Kansas was beaten by the new No.1 team of the nation, the Missouri Tigers, a day after.

Darren McFaddenThe LSU Tigers were sure of a spot in the 2008 BCS national championship game. But just like most teams this season, LSU was hit by a road block and last Friday, it was the Arkansas Razorbacks, stunning them with a 50-48 triple overtime win. It doesn’t get any better than that folks.

Razorbacks star running back, Darren McFadden rushed for 206 yards and three touchdowns, and even threw for another score to lift Arkansas to a 50-48 triple overtime win over what was the No.1 team of the nation. Yep, the Razorbacks probably eliminated another team from the national title chase and letting the…

Underground Poker Scene getting more Dangerous?

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

seth-edward-oneal.jpgUm… Yeah, because more and more sick fucks are finding it an attractive target to do all the shit they wanna’ do.

Since a former professor was killed in a private poker room in New York City, poker players from the underground poker scene were stunned, frightened and just plain scared shitless of the fact that any one of them could be next.

Masked men, armed with a shotgun, barged into an underground poker game on the 7th floor of an office building on Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue. The masked men were trying to rob the joint and during the robbery, former professor, Frank DeSena was shot in the torso and killed after a gun went off by accident.

Underground PokerDeSena was 55 years old.

As expected, many underground poker players were shocked. Some players even claimed that risking your life for an underground poker game is just not worth it. Some, on the other hand, blame it on the police after New York and Dallas have publicly went on a crackdown on underground gambling.

Poker players complained that the police forced what they consider to be a harmless game further underground, making it more vulnerable to crimes like this.

‘’The police are driving it into a dark corner that it doesn’t need to be in,'’ a former underground poker room manager said, adding that he thought the games should be…

Boston Celtics visit LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers to bitch-slap the stupid Burger King

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

And probably to fuck that sonuvabitch up good and hopefully, we won’t hear any more shit about him being king.

Sorry, I just had to get that off my chest. He he… And yep, the 2007-08 NBA basketball season continues as the Boston Celtics travel to Quicken Loans Arena to visit the Cleveland Cavaliers. The past couple of weeks, we saw how the once mighty Boston Celtics are capable of losing games. The Orlando Magic handed them their very first loss of the season, (yes, I still remember that shit…) and just last weekend, we almost saw another one.

The Charlotte Bobcats were tasked to play the red-hot Boston Celtics last Saturday. What should’ve been an easy win for Boston was anything but easy. With 4.7 seconds left in the game, Bobcats star Jason Richardson only needed to inbound the ball and the Bobcats would’ve pull off a shocking win over Boston.

LeBron JamesBut when Eddie House knocked away his inbound pass, reality began to surface inside the Charlotte Bobcats Arena. After Ray Allen made a three-pointer at the buzzer, Richardson was looking at a 96-95 loss to Boston and the rest of the Celtics were celebrating like crazy.

Pandemonium.

Does this narrow win over Charlotte mean the Celtics can be beaten? Well, I don’t know about that but it certainly means that no matter what you do…

Dolphins visit the Steelers on NFL Monday Night Football

Monday, November 26th, 2007

And in this week’s edition of Monday Night Football, we have TWO stories probably worth your while.

And in case you’re still reading, I reckon you gave in to my sell. Well, for this edition of Monday Night Football on Week 12 of the 2007-08 NFL football season, yes, you’ll definitely have TWO angles worth watching on a Monday night.

First is of course the possible return of Miami Dolphins running back Ricky Williams. The troubled former Heisman Trophy winner was reinstated from an 18-month suspension for repeated violations of the league’s substance abuse policy last week and returned to practice with the Miami Dolphins last Wednesday.

Ricky Williams hasn’t played Ben Roethlisbergerin an NFL game since the 2005 regular season finale but has a chance to be activated against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football. The Dolphins doesn’t have much of a choice anyway since No.1 running back Jesse Chatman is dealing with a sprained ankle and could be limited in the game.

The SECOND storyline you should be looking at is the return of Miami Dolphins linebacker Joey Porter to Pittsburgh, where he helped the Pittsburgh Steelers become Super Bowl champions during the last two years of his career there.

Of course, Joey Porter wasn’t expecting that he’ll be returning to Pittsburgh without any wins whatsoever with his new…

Florida Gators QB Tim Tebow injures right hand

Monday, November 26th, 2007

seth-edward-oneal.jpgAnd if this guy wins the Heisman, he might have a rather difficult time lifting that heavy bronze monstrosit… er… statue.

After 13 weeks of the 2007 NCAA college football season, probably the most significant individual stats leader on the college gridiron went down. Yep, I’m talking about the leading Heisman trophy candidate, Tim Tebow, he went down with a nasty injury on his right hand.

Florida Gators quarterback, Tim Tebow, broke his right hand after throwing for 262 yards and three touchdowns on 19-28 passing. Tebow also ran for a couple more TDs as his Florida Gators simply bitch-slapped state rivals, Florida State Seminoles, 45-12.

Tim Tebow‘’We could not get him down,'’ Florida State Seminoles head coach Bobby Bowden said of Tim Tebow. ‘’If he doesn’t win the Heisman Trophy, it’s because of the sophomore thing. But if he doesn’t, he should win the next two years.'’

Tim Tebow sure is a huge factor on the Florida Gators offense. Losing a guy like this to injuries will definitely be detrimental to the success of your team. Good thing Tebow is left-handed.

Hell, even if he gets his left throwing hand injured as well, Tim Tebow will play anyway just for the heck of it. Not only did he…

Houston Rockets visit the Los Angeles Clippers

Monday, November 26th, 2007

And just because BOTH teams from Los Angeles have now lost FIVE straight games, we’d probably be rooting for Houston.

Yep, it’s a Monday night and Tracy McGrady is still playing this 2007-08 NBA basketball season. For a guy who gets injured so much, Houston should be thankful that No.1 is still able to carry that sore back across the basketball court.

Well, Tracy McGrady and the Houston Rockets travel to Tinseltown to face the Los Angeles Clippers. Los Angeles hasn’t been represented well lately. After the Lakers lost to the New Jersey Nets last night, the pressure is now on the Clippers to get LA back to the win column.

Tracy McGradyI don’t know if you can do that to a Houston Rockets team that has finally broken it’s own losing streak with an emphatic win over the equally hot Denver Nuggets. Oh yes, the Rockets have finally ended their six-game skid by beating the Denver Nuggets, 109-81, last Saturday at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.

Tracy McGrady led the way with a game-high 35 points while Yao Ming came up with a solid double-double performance of 22 points and 13 rebounds.

Of course, the Rockets benefited from a tough shooting night by the two…
