Allan Houston ends comeback bid with New York Knicks
Yes, even before it had the chance to get started.
He he… In what turned out to be one confusing series of days in New York before this 2007-08 NBA basketball season started, rumors about Allan Houston suiting up his familiar No.20 jersey in New York City again began to come out.
And while the rest of the New York Knicks fans were probably looking forward to it, because of the fact that they don’t really have something to be happy about these days, Allan Houston ended it because it turns out that Isiah Thomas had no intention whatsoever letting him play in the first place.
Hee hee… Oh it’s true, it’s DAMN true. New York Knicks head coach, Isiah Thomas, still fresh from his ordeal with Anucha Browne Sanders who sued him for sexual harassment, was never really going to let Allan Houston return on the court because the New York Knicks roster, as fucked up as it already is, already had the maximum of 15 players under contract.
And he only invited Allan Houston to camp because of, get this, ‘’his history in New York.'’
Ha!
‘’While my body and my knees, in particular, feel fine, I know what is required for me to be truly effective in the NBA again, and it involves a timing and progression that would not be fair to Isiah and the Knicks right now,'’ Allan Houston said in a statement released by the New York Knicks.
‘’I think it is best for the team to move on without me. I appreciate the opportunity that Isiah and the Knicks have given me, and I wish the team nothing but success.'’
Hmm… I wonder how much Isiah paid Houston to utter those words and probably save his ass yet again from the New York City locals who’d like to see his ass fired.
