Kate who?

If you’re an average American too busy searching the net for the next celebrity pussy to come out, yeah maybe you haven’t heard of her.

Kate Middleton is the new darling of the British media because she happens to be the girlfriend of everyone’s favorite real-life prince, William.

And because the British tabloids are bored with their own lack of Paris-Britney-Lindsey media whores to feast on, they go about this unglamorous hounding of the royal girlfriend.

The latest surge of media coverage has seen dozens of photographers camped outside Middleton’s London flat, and following her in blacked-out vans and motorcycles, reminiscent of last minutes of Diana’s life. Poor kid, the prince hasn’t even proposed yet and they already want to kill her! Is this the thirst to create a new Diana whose tragic end, we now know, has been caused by the blood thirsty media? And blood was what they got out of her. Still they haven’t learned even a bit of a teeny-weeny lesson from all these.

Now their new victim is turning out to be the middle-class English youngster whom they’re pretending to be wishing to have a fairy tale love story ending, but we all know what they’re really up to now, don’t we?

The media is reporting that Kate is in a hurry to get engaged and is getting tired of waiting. After all, four years in a relationship is a long time by today’s standards. That’s even way longer than many marriages in tinseltown. Plus Kate is said to be trying to dispell accusations that what they have was a simple college romance.

However, the enemy is Prince Charming himself. Will is not feeling the pressure of plucking a wife so soon because the Royal Family is not in a hurry to produce the next heir to the throne. And quite frankly, I don’t think he’s keen on following his Dad’s footsteps when it comes to the love and marriage thing. Ergo, he has the luxury of taking his time.

In fact it was said that Will is urging his girlfriend to get a real gig (read: a job) because he allegedly “feared” she was resembling the likes of Posh Spice, and the WAG brigade that shops around London and often photographed with a stuff-full of shopping bags in tow.

The royal connections clearly hasn’t helped her because she hasn’t found full-time work since graduating two years ago.

Well, if my boyfriend who is heir to a powerful throne tells me to get a job, girl that’s a clear sign Westminster’s bells aren’t ringing anytime soon.

Then again my sources are the ever nosy British gossip machines. So who knows how many per cent of this story is actually trustworthy?
