Can the Heat win in Miami against the Timberwolves?

seth-edward-oneal.jpgDon’t ask me why but it seems the struggling Heat just can’t win.

And what’s even more troubling, for Miami Heat fans anyway, is the fact that they lose a good half of their games at home this 2007-08 NBA basketball season. Yeah, we already knew the Heat suck, but we never expected them to suck this bad and this fast.

The last time the pathetic Miami Heat were on the court, they let a guy who were in a shooting slump somewhat, score 24 points, 12 in the final quarter, as Jermaine O’Neal broke out of his slump to lead the Indiana Pacers past the Heat at the AmericanAirlines Arena.

Miami HeatI guess the crowd watching that game probably wished it was their O’Neal who broke out of a shooting slump. Unfortunately for them, this O’Neal’s first name ain’t by any chance Shaquille.

For what it’s worth, the Miami Heat still had a chance to send the game into overtime, but a three-point attempt from Dwyane Wade from the corner with 1.8 seconds left rimmed out and extended Miami’s struggles at home. Whatever momentum the Heat (6-17) brought back after winning the final two games of its recent Western Conference trip was squandered by its second loss in as many games since the team returned.

The Heat are now 2-8 at home and owns the second worst record in the league. They will face the owners of the worst one on Monday, the Minnesota Timberwolves, if the Heat lose this one, you can only imagine how sick the city of Miami will get.

Speaking of the Wolves, they too have been struggling so bad. They are 2-9 at home and 1-10 on the road. The Wolves lost four games in a row and are 10 games behind the Denver Nuggets who leads a weak Northwest division in the Western conference.

I don’t know how one team will win this game but someone has to win one way or another. Expect Miami or Minnesota to ACCIDENTALLY win this pathetic game.
