David Beckham to finally play for L.A. Galaxy Thursday?

Here we go again.

After weeks and weeks of disappointments, (well, not THAT long anyway but you get my drift…) there are reports once again that say David Beckham just might suit up and make his highly anticipated official debut for the Los Angeles Galaxy when they take on D.C. United on Thursday.

Of course, if the Los Angeles Galaxy comes out to the pitch with David Beckham in one of his fancy suits again, we won’t be surprised. STILL, the idea that the fans just might get their money’s worth THIS TIME, somehow, excites them.

david_beckham17.jpg”It’s looking up,” David Beckham said of his chances to finally play for his new team. ”I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, and hopefully, I’ll get out there playing soon.”

Just like all those other games they thought they’d see David Beckham play, this fixture between the Los Angeles Galaxy and D.C. United on Thursday is sold out. About 45,000 people who bought tickets for Thursday’s game will probably be keeping their fingers crossed. He he… These guys never learn.

Well, you can’t really blame them. David Beckham, since his arrival to the Los Angeles Galaxy from the Spanish La Liga giants, Real Madrid, has singlehandedly elevated MLS soccer just enough to have people pay attention.

However, since making probably the biggest transfer of the 2007 MLS soccer season, these guys were denied of watching the pop icon because of the now infamous ankle injury. Something Becks’ is saying, bothers him too, but with the gazillion dollars he’s earning with the Galaxy while doing nothing, I reckon he’s enjoying every single minute of it.

”There’s obviously going to be people who maybe don’t understand, but it’s a sports injury,” David Beckham said.

”I can’t really apologize for being injured because that’s just the way of life in any sportsman’s career. It’s frustrating for myself to not be out there on the pitch, probably more frustrating than for the people to wait for me to step onto the pitch. I’m doing everything possible to get fit, and that’s all I can say.”

Maybe if you auction off your wife’s beaver, then we’ll all be happy.

Will David Beckham play on Thursday to lead the Los Angeles Galaxy over D.C. United? Who will win this MLS soccer fixture on Thursday? AcesAce sportsbook has the odds.

Los Angeles Galaxy +0.5

D.C. United -0.5
