Deaf Poker Players Enjoy Their Texas Hold’em Tournaments Just Like We Do
Here’s a poker tournament where the poker tells will really play a big part.
The West Suburban Association of the Deaf (WSAD) of Illinois and surrounding areas will hold their first Deaf Texas Hold’em poker tournament Sunday, February 25 at Hanging Gardens Banquets, River Grove.
Poker tourneys for the deaf has been done in other places like Texas. There’s even a National Deaf Poker Tour being aired on ESPN. This proves once again that poker is a game everyone can enjoy, with disabilities or not.
Even our intellectually impaired politicians at Capitol Hill play poker within their WASP-exclusive club houses.
They just like seeing everyone else enjoy it especially using this device powered by a series of tubes.
Anyway, the deaf poker players of the West will surely enjoy this tournament as number one: there’ll be no blabbermouths at the tables. Or if there’s one wailing semi comprehensible complaints, no one will really hear it. Just watch out for those obscene sign languages.
Number two: the winner of the tournament and the second place finisher will each get free seats to the 2007 World Series of Poker events in Las Vegas. Meaning they get a shot at being professional poker players, if they aren’t yet. How cool is that?
I wonder if they let non-deaf people join. I’d sure have a blast playing with them because there’d be no noisy bad asses. And I can play real poker with some peace and quiet.
I meant that in the good way, folks.
