Finally, Barry Bonds hits 756 to pass Hank Aaron

seth-edward-oneal.jpgWe can now move on and live the rest of our lives without ever mentioning the name, Barry Bonds right?

Um… NOT QUITE. Now that Barry Bonds hit career home run No.756 to overtake Hank Aaron for the MLB all-time home run record, it seems every single thing about the sport will STILL be all about the guy until somebody hits 757. And I reckon it won’t matter if the guy who’ll pass Bonds in the future uses steroids or not too.

When Hank Aaron was the all-time home run leader in MLB baseball, his 755 home runs sure looked safe as it took 26 long years before anybody even came close to it.

barry_bonds10.jpgHell, the No.2 all-time home run leader then was 40-year-old Willie McCovey with 465 home runs and the guy will probably need the fountain of youth just to get to No.500.

Babe Ruth had his own, era of dominance, if you will, as it took almost 40 years before Aaron became the black dude every single Babe Ruth Caucasian fan hated. Oh yeah, in case you didn’t know, Hank Aaron became the devil as far as white America is concerned. After all, Babe Ruth then was indeed, god-like.

Now that the MLB all-time home run record solely belongs to the steroid-powered arms of Barry Bonds, the search for that one guy who’ll smoke his ass begins, starting this 2007 MLB baseball season. Of course, we MUST also consider that Bonds ain’t done yet and it sure looks like he won’t be retiring anytime soon.

Perhaps the question hardcore MLB baseball fans (and there are not a lot of them…) should ask is this, how many home runs will the San Francisco Giants star have before he finally retires? Yep, and if you don’t like the guy, (probably because of the steroids issues…) you’re in for one looong era in baseball talking about the guy who used steroids to fuck up the sport.

Some say that Barry Bonds WILL HIT 884 home runs before he walks away from the game. That is if he can keep up with this pace. The only hope Bonds-haters have now is root for Alex Rodriguez, now the youngest ever to hit No.500, to overtake Bonds and hope he stays the hell away from dope.

Then again, that’s wishful thinking.

Who will win the 2007 MLB World Series Championship? Bodog has the odds.

New York Yankees 7/2

Boston Red Sox 9/1

Detroit Tigers 5/1

St. Louis Cardinals 9/1
