Knicks and 76ers decide who is the second worst team in the 2007-08 NBA Season next to the Miami Heat

Sadly, that’s the only thing these two teams will be playing for on Friday.

After two months into the 2007-08 NBA basketball season, both the New York Knicks and the Philadelphia 76ers are sitting at the very bottom of the Boston-dominated Atlantic division.

If it wasn’t for the Boston Celtics, the Atlantic division could become the worst division ever in all of basketball. If it’s any consolation for both the Knicks and the Sixers, at least the Miami Heat suck far worse than them… COMBINED.

The last time the New York Knicks were on the basketball court, they came up with a huge win over city rivals, New Jersey Nets. Yep, the Knicks won one despite a game-high 31 points from New Jersey Nets star Richard Jefferson. Imagine that.

Stephon MarburyJamal Crawford and Zach Randolph carried the Knicks to their sixth win of the season after scoring 29 and 25 points respectively.

At the other side of the court, the last time the Philadelphia 76ers played, that powerhouse team from Boston just kicked their ass. The Sixers did looked like they were on the verge of probably the biggest upset win of the season.

But after what turned out to be a surprising first half, Philly simply ran out of gas in the second half as Boston ended each of the remaining two quarters with no less than a seven-point quarter lead en route to a 113-103 victory.

Kevin Garnett led the Boston Celtics with 22 points and 7 rebounds while Philadelphia lost their third game in a row despite getting huge numbers from Andre Iguodala and Andre Miller who scored 24 and 26 respectively.

This game between the New York Knicks and the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday should be nothing more but one miserable crapfest. And if I were to bet on this one, (jeez… who will care to bet on something like this?..) I’d take the Knicks just because they’re coming off a huge win over a rival.

Besides, the Sixers are still reeling since Allen Iverson moved to Denver.
