No Fly Zone in Detroit as Pistons host Atlanta Hawks
NO FLY ZONE. Yep, that will be an understatement come game time.
After 22 games into the 2007-08 NBA basketball season, the Detroit Pistons, no matter how many times the rest of the league talks about the BIG THREE in Boston, still remain as one of the elite teams in the East.
And don’t you start trying to tell me otherwise too because the Detroit Pistons, with a solid 15-7 mark, are hovering under the radar so to speak, leading the Central division in the East by four games.
On Friday, the struggling Atlanta Hawks visit the Palace of Auburn Hills to face these Pistons and I’ve got to tell you, it won’t be pretty especially if you’re a Hawks fan.
And speaking of not being pretty, the last time these Pistons were on the floor, they were exactly that, ”not being pretty,” as they lost to the Houston Rockets in a game where none of them can make shots.
The Pistons went 27 percent from the floor and 36 percent for the game, overall. And as bad as that was, the Houston Rockets were even worse, shooting 6-22 from the charity stripe. Hell, those guys were shooting from the foul line so bad that they made Shaquille O’Neal look like Mark fucking Price for crying out loud.
Fortunately, someone had to win this game and guess what, the home team did, as the Rockets beat the Pistons 80-77, in Houston. You can just imagine how pissed these Pistons are coming to their game against the Atlanta birds on Friday night.
Well, Rasheed Wallace is anyway. My boy is just irritated about the fact that he was in foul trouble all game against Houston, as the refs gave Yao Ming the benefit of the doubt for every single play.
”Ticky-tack fouls,” Rasheed Wallace said. ”This man’s (Yao’s) 300 pounds, and they talk about how I bodied him up. I fouled him with the body. What the hell, I’m supposed to let him get to the lane?”
Uh oh… Rasheed will just eat Al Horford alive on Friday night, that’s for sure.
