Oklahoma Sooners visit Tulsa to remain Perfect
BOOMER SOONER nation is back and right now, no team has able to shut them up yet.
Week 4 of the 2007-08 NCAA college football season resumes with the red-hot Oklahoma Sooners taking on the Tulsa Golden Hurricane on Friday after Western Kentucky and Miami took care of their rivals to start the week.
Yes, this year’s Oklahoma Sooners, behind the stellar play of quarterback Sam Bradford, have become one of the elite teams in college football. They virtually crushed the first three teams unfortunate enough to face this powerhouse Sooners team and you just know they would want Tulsa to be victim number four.
This Friday’s game between the Sooners and the Golden Hurricane will feature two of the nation’s top offenses.
Oklahoma’s conventional approach takes on Tulsa’s no-huddle offense. Sure, no-huddle offenses are cool but as long as you have a Peyton Manning behind center, playing a no-huddle offense is always a risk, especially if you’re playing Oklahoma.
For what it’s worth, that no-huddle offense is working for Tulsa after two games. The 2-0 Tulsa Golden Hurricane has averaged 559 yards, that’s No.4 in the nation, and last week gained a whopping 595 yards in a 55-47 shootout with BYU.
That’s definitely something to cheer about if you’re a Tulsa fan right? Well, if you are, then you should know that Tulsa will be going up against the highest scoring offense in all of college football this season. Yep, it’s the Oklahoma Sooners. And oh yeah, did I mention they also have the second best defense in the country too?
The Sooners held North Texas’ spread attack to 247 yards and Utah State’s to 153 yards. Miami, which also frequently used shotgun sets with three or four wide receivers, had only 139 yards. It will be intriguing to see what Tulsa’s offense can do against that.
Pick the Sooners -13.5 to bring Tulsa down.
