Pistons to wake up Game 5 and see it’s just Cleveland

Guys, these guys are not the Dallas Mavericks. They are not from Chicago. Jeez… It’s just Cleveland for crying out loud.

For a city whose ONLY other star aside from LeBron James is Drew Carry, and for a place that is home to such pathetic losers like the Browns, the Indians and yes, the Cavaliers, the Pistons should’ve ended this thing a couple of days ago.

Instead, the irritating Cleveland Cavaliers took advantage of Detroit’s mistakes in the final seconds of the last two games to even this seven-game NBA Eastern Conference Finals series, 2-2, and send it back to square one.

rasheed_wallace2.jpgAfter the Dallas Mavericks got booted out by an eight-seeded team in the first round, Cleveland surviving Detroit after four games is the other thing that surprised me in the 2007 NBA Playoffs. (Yep, I always knew Miami will be swept by the Chicago Bulls the moment I saw the 2007 NBA playoff match-ups this year…)

In Games 3 and 4 of this Pistons - Cavaliers series, Cleveland took advantage of Detroit’s mental mistakes and probably the biggest one the Pistons made was that crucial turnover from their leader in Game 4, Chauncey Billups, of all people.

Chauncey Billups made one of his five turnovers in the final 90 seconds of Game 4. Chauncey did score 23 for Detroit but that turnover to Drew Gooden simply was too big and too costly to forget… AND FORGIVE.

‘’They did what we do,'’ Tayshaun Prince said of the Cavaliers. ‘’They pretty much kept the game close, kept the game close. Then in the fourth quarter, when we make our punch, it was vice versa today. They made theirs, and they made it at the right time.'’

The Detroit Pistons have been in the same exact situation last year, when they dropped two games in Cleveland after winning the first two at the Palace of Auburn Hills. Of course, they can’t afford to continue this on and let what is turning out to be a blueprint of the 2006 playoffs dictate how they will reach the 2007 NBA Finals.

In 2006, the Pistons lost Game 5 before winning Games 6 and 7 to meet the San Antonio Spurs. Yeah sure, it’s still a Pistons’ NBA Finals berth in the end but if Detroit was to do the exact same thing again this year, my heart just won’t be able to take it anymore.

Please guys, just beat the Cavaliers.

Can the Detroit Pistons beat the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 5 and take the 3-2 lead in this seven-game Eastern Conference Finals? Here are some odds from Bodog:

Detroit Pistons -5 ½

Cleveland Cavaliers +5 ½ (boo!)

    Hey,

Odd Jack or whatever your name is. Where is your article on how Lebron took apart the Pistons last night. I KNOW that you watched the game. I also noticed you talked a BUNCH of smack after the first game. The Pistons may still win the series, BUT you need to give Lebron his credit. “After All It’s Still Just Cleveland”, but Lebron had a CAREER night against the Pistons, yet there was no comment from you.

And I don’t think anybody from Detroit should be calling the Browns “pathetic losers”. Exactly what have the Lions ever done? How many championships have the Lions ever won?

Your comments are ridiculous, but you need to give Lebron his “props”. GO CAVS!!

First off, me rooting for the Pistons doesn’t mean I have to root for the pathetic Lions. Now that THAT is out of the way…

Yeah, good point. LeBron James DID have a career night in Game 5. But that doesn’t mean I have to comment on that, after all, I am a Pistons fan.

But still, yeah, sure, I have to give LeBron James his due. That’s why I posted this article just for you. Thanks by the way for thinking the Pistons will STILL win the series. It’s kinda’ weird actually for you, a CAVS fan, to say that but hey, I guess we’re expecting the exact same thing and I won’t argue with that.

Oh by the way, my comments won’t appear as ridiculous if you’re a Pistons fan and yeah, the name’s J.J. Jack.
