Vince Young is the Madden NFL 2008 cover boy
Uh oh… Another one bites the dust.
Yep, EA Sports’ cursed video game, Madden NFL Football, announced their next prey to the 2007-08 NFL season. It’s Tennessee Titans quarterback Vince Young as the promising young gun graces the cover of Madden NFL 2008.
Yikes! This is definitely not something you want as you start only your second season in the NFL. And you can just imagine what this entire thing will do to Young’s er… young career after an explosive rookie season with the Tennessee Titans.
For all ya’ll who don’t know what the fuss is all about, Madden NFL cover boys like Vince Young, in the past, had either two things, get injured or have a rather fucked up season on the same year the game comes out.
And with Vince Young gracing the cover of EA Sports’ Madden NFL 2008, we’ll just wait and see what happens next to the promising Tennessee Titans quarterback.
Back in 2001, Eddie George was the first Titan to ever grace the cover of Madden NFL Football. George suffered a toe injury in the 2000-01 after a career-high 1,509 yards he dropped in Tennessee’s 1999-2000 campaign.
Eddie George only managed 939 yards during the same season he became Madden’s cover athlete. The Tennessee Titans dropped from 13-3 in 2000 to a rather miserable 7-9 during George’s ”Madden-cursed year.”
Other prominent players to fall victim to the Madden Curse include quarterbacks Donovan McNabb and Daunte Culpepper and last year’s cover man Shaun Alexander.
Vince Young appeared on ”Jimmy Kimmel Live” as part of the kickoff promotion for the newest version the popular NFL video game that is endorsed by NFL Hall of Fame coach and analyst John Madden.
Who by the way STILL refuses to let his boy, Brett Favre, grace one cover of his popular NFL video game franchise.
