We’ll talk about golf and the 2007 U.S. Open of the PGA Tour from June 11 – 17 while dressing properly

Well… Maybe not.

Yeah, the latest golf tournament on green (all of them are anyway…) is here as the top golfers of the world play from June 11 – 17 in the 2007 U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club.

As golfing madness comes to the ”Steel City,” yep, home of the Pittsburgh Steelers (…AND Pittsburgh Penguins although people from Pittsburgh just don’t care about anything else other than Ben Roethlisberger…) this year’s U.S. Open has one thing in mind for all ya’ll who want to watch Tiger Woods kick everybody’s ass yet again.

Apparently, Oakmont Country Club is one of the most popular and most estimable golf country clubs in the U.S., tiger_woods.jpgthat’s why if you’re planning to watch middle-aged men in those stupid trousers, bending over for Tiger Woods… er… I mean… to put a ball through a hole at the 2007 U.S. Open, then it would be a good idea to dress up.

Come to Pittsburgh with a shirt on for a change.

”The first thing you have to realize when you go to one of these events is, take direction from the club that is host,” said Annmarie Dodd. Dodd is the fashion editor for Golf World magazine.

”Oakmont is one of the most respected and revered private clubs in the country. It really is so storied, that club.”

”Golf has never been more fashionable as it is today,” she adds. ”Players think about what they wear and are scripted every day. It’s going to be like a golf fashion runway show for men come to life.”

”I’ve spoken with a couple of golfers, and they’re going to bring their ‘A’ game with what they’re wearing. If they think about it that much, you should think about it, too.”

This is the eight time the Oakmont Country Club in Pittsburgh is hosting the U.S. Open. That’s more than any other club in the States.

Can Tiger Woods win the 2007 U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club? Bodog has the odds.

Tiger Woods 14/5

Phil Mickelson 8/1

Ernie Els 20/1

Vijay Singh 16/1
