That’s right, more NBA gambling guides for ya’. Hopefully, these things have already earned you a dollar or two.
The 2007-08 NBA basketball season resumes this Friday with a busy 12-game schedule. It starts with the Indiana Pacers, losers of three straight games, visiting the hottest team in the Eastern Conference, the Toronto Raptors at 7:00 pm.
The Toronto Raptors currently hold the fourth spot in the Eastern Conference while the struggling Indiana Pacers are down at the 12th spot. Yes, the Pacers are that bad this season. The Pacers are +10 underdogs coming into this one and since they will be facing a Raptors team that won seven of their last ten games, don’t expect Indiana to win against the spread.
Next, the boys from the Big Apple visit the Atlanta Hawks. Zach Randolph and the rest of the New York Knicks have a poor record on the road at 6-22, facing a Hawks team that has done fairly well at home. The soaring Atlanta Hawks led by forward Josh Smith tries to notch their second win to hold the final spot in the Eastern Conference.
Pick the Atlanta Hawks to cover against the +6.5 New York Knicks.
Cleveland Cavaliers Superstar LeBron James hit a milestone in his last game, being the youngest in NBA history to reach the…
How about that, just when you thought this thing between the Pats and the Jets died down a bit with the season over, this happens.
In case you have no clue whatsoever about this rivalry between the New York Jets and my New England Patriots, it all started way way waaay back when Tom Brady was still a virtual unknown and Bill Parcells was busy shifting from New York to Boston.
We’ve seen all kinds of shit since like Eric Mangini resigning as assistant coach in New England to become the new head coach of the New York Jets. And who could forget those spying tactics the Pats used on the Jets’ coaches at the very first week of last season?
Now, we have the latest. Apparently, the New York Jets are letting linebacker Jonathan Vilma seek a new team after two years under the Eric Mangini regime. There’s a catch though, the Jets are letting Vilma seek for a new team OTHER than the New England Patriots.
Can the Jets do that? Yes they can.
Jonathan Vilma, whose star has dimmed in two seasons under New York Jets head coach Eric Mangini, has received permission from the team to shop himself for a potential trade to any team of his choosing other than their rivals from New England.
Another long list of games, THIS TIME in the N-C double A, you can bet on.
The 2008 March Madness bracket tournament is merely a few more days away and these games we have left on the college hardwood should get more intense with playoff atmosphere just around the corner.
The Pennsylvania Quakers play the Yale Bulldogs in the Ivy League of the 2008 NCAA Men’s College Basketball season. The Quakers have a 5-4 record while the Yale Bulldogs follow at 4-6.
The Harvard Crimson battle the Columbia Lions in the second game. Harvard, down to a 3-7 record, tries to get a win over the 6-4 Lions. Crimson guard Jeremy Lin averages 12.8 ppg, 4.7 rpg and 3.4 apg, while Lions forward John Baumann averages 15.8 ppg, 6.8 rpg and 1.1 apg.
What we have next features a battle of colors, if you will, as the Dartmouth Big Green play the Cornell Big Red. Dartmouth tries to gain back to back wins against Cornell. Cornell has the best record in the IVY standings with a perfect 10-0 in the conference.
Kobe Bryant to Detroit! He he… Just kidding… The Pistons haven’t made such a move… YET.
And although the trading deadline of the 2007-08 NBA basketball season is over, I’m still hoping the Detroit Pistons would be able to land No.24 in the years to come. Until then, I’ll just be rooting for my guys to beat Boston and beat anybody that comes out of the West to win this year’s title.
As far as the huge trades that has happened the last few weeks, particularly in the Western Conference, these trades are definitely making quite an impact in reshaping the West as we know it.
And just because we sure had a lot of them this season, let’s grade these trades with stars from one to five and hopefully, we can determine which team made the biggest trade to help them win a title.
Let’s start with the obvious one, Pau Gasol to the Los Angeles Lakers. After Tinseltown got Pau Gasol from the Memphis Grizzlies, Kobe Bryant finally found the second option he was looking for since Shaquille O’Neal headed East after the 2003-04 season.
It turns out that Roger Clemens appears to be lying. That’s according to this 18-page memorandum compiled by congressional staff members.
Uh oh… The Rocket sure is facing a TOUGH OUT even before the 2008 MLB baseball season starts eh? In case you’ve been living under a rock, ‘’the Rocket'’ Roger Clemens is being accused of using baseball’s ‘’most hated'’ drug, steroids. And lately, the schmuck is being accused of lying UNDER OATH.
That means, if Roger Clemens is found guilty of lying under oath, he could be slapped with a perjury case faster than Dwyane Wade getting a foul call from a referee who has a hundred bucks riding with his bookie.
The document, released Wednesday by Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., the majority leader of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, lists ‘’seven sets of assertions'’ the former New York Yankees pitcher made during his Feb.5 deposition and Feb.13 testimony that are ‘’implausible'’ or ‘’appear to be contradicted by other evidence before the Committee.'’
The first of the aforementioned assertions Roger Clemens made could very well be the most…
It’s Thursday and we have three games at the Association that could be worth your while.
The wheelin’ and dealin’ in the 2007-08 NBA basketball season is over, leaving the Western Conference ridiculously talented again and the East… well, the East. And since the Eastern Conference still is the ‘’lesser'’ division in the NBA, let’s start there.
Michael Redd and the Milwaukee Bucks visit the new-look New Jersey Nets Thursday night. Newly acquired New Jersey Nets guard Devin Harris might not play again, giving Marcus Williams fantasy owners more than enough reasons why they should still start him at the point.
Nets’ guard Devin Harris was acquired from Dallas on February 19 in an eight-player deal that sent star point guard Jason Kidd to the Dallas Mavericks. High - flying Nets forward Vince Carter has been carrying the load since Jason Kidd left and the result was awful, the New Jersey Nets have gone below.500, losing half of their last ten.
The Milwaukee Bucks, on the other hand, will come in New Jersey without any momentum whatsoever as well. They are 6-24 on the road facing the Nets who are 14-16 at home. Expect somebody to ACCIDENTALLY win this one.
In the Western Conference, the battle for Texas resumes as the Dallas Mavericks visit the San Antonio Spurs in a game between the top teams in the ridiculously talented…
Yes people, the almighty Ferrari admits they are not perfect just yet.
Merely a few more weeks before the 2008 F1 season kicks off, teams are starting to figure out what needs to be done in order for them to compete for a championship by season’s end.
As the final testing in Barcelona concludes, Ferrari found out that they still have a lot of work to do if they want to have a repeat of last season’s success, when they won both the drivers’ and constructors’ championships.
Ferrari is happy with the performance of their new car, the F2008 (no gimmicky names there…) despite a few problems during testing in Barcelona last week.
The F2008 has been the form car during testing, but the team didn’t have everything their own way at the Circuit de Catalunya, and were outpaced by Lewis Hamilton and McLaren - Mercedes Thursday.
They were the only team on the track on Friday and had a few mechanical difficulties. However, Ferrari technical chief Aldo Costa is confident they are making headway with the 2008 Australian Grand Prix just a couple of weeks away to kick off the brand new season.

At least Floyd Mayweather Jr. admits that this WrestleMania match he just signed for is for publicity.
You read it people, Floyd Mayweather Jr., the man who currently holds the World Boxing Council (WBC) welterweight championship belt and the title ‘’best pound for pound fighter in the world'’ will be taking on professional wrestler ‘’The Big Show'’ in this annual spectacle held by the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) entitled WrestleMania XXIV.
Yep, the WWE sure knows how to hype up this annual event. For all ya’ll who didn’t know, WrestleMania is pro wrestling’s Super Bowl.
And after getting multi-billionaire Donald Trump last year at WrestleMania, this time, they just signed ‘’Money'’ Floyd Mayweather Jr. into a match with the seven-foot, 400-pound (or so they say…) Big Show.
The seeds of the Mayweather - Show rivalry were planted at No Way Out, when the seven-foot, 400-pound (there it is again…) WWE Superstar taunted the six-time boxing champion, and was left bloodied with a broken nose.
Floyd Mayweather Jr., a longtime WWE fan and, for the…
This should be a good one people since nobody probably expected these two teams to be where they are at this point of the year.
The Lakers and the Trail Blazers are shocking the world this 2007-08 NBA basketball season. After Kobe Bryant heavily demanded for a trade in L.A. while Greg Oden, the Blazers’ overall No.1 draft pick, got injured for the rest of the year in Portland, both teams sure were facing a tumultuous campaign even before the regular season began.
Lo and behold, the Los Angeles Lakers, right now, are at the top of the very competitive Western Conference while last year’s lottery-bound team from Portland are looking at a playoff spot because of the stellar play from their young guns.
How in the world did this happen? It seems only yesterday when the Lakers and the Portland Trail Blazers already have this season lost with Kobe looking to get out of Tinseltown and Greg Oden postponing his NBA career for one year in Portland. They will lock horns on Tuesday night and we just might determine which among these two teams are for real or not.
The Los Angeles Lakers come into this game as the No.1 team of the West. They are riding on an eight-game winning streak, winning nine of their last ten games. The Lakers know that winning each game is very important, especially if you’re in this conference and with the Phoenix Suns breeding down their necks, losing to Portland on Tuesday shouldn’t be in their…
They’re not the top dogs yet but you can bet you’re ass the Volunteers will savor this moment as the No.1 team of the nation.
The question now is, can Tennessee hold on to the No.1 spot with the 2008 March Madness bracket tournament merely a few more weeks away? Of course, they’re hoping but with powerhouse teams from North Carolina and UCLA breeding down their necks, they probably know deep down inside that losing the No.1 spot to those teams is inevitable.
That won’t stop the Tennessee Volunteers from savoring the moment though. After all, days like these doesn’t come by often in Tennessee.
Hell, this No.1 ranking they just received from college basketball coaches is the first one they got… IN SCHOOL HISTORY, so you can just imagine how happy these guys are at this point of the college basketball year.
‘’No.1’s great,'’ Tennessee Volunteers star guard Chris Lofton said Saturday, ‘’but we want to be No.1 at the end of the year.'’
Of course kid, who doesn’t? According to the Associated Press poll, the Tennessee Volunteers have beaten a No.1 team only once, that’s the 55-54 win over No.1 South Carolina on December 6, 1969. It is only fitting that they beat another No.1 team this season, beating the Memphis Tigers last weekend, to get their first ever…
