2008 NCAA College Football Week 13 Betting Picks
It’s Week 13, hopefully, the number 13 will bring some of these teams luck.
Since the 2008 NCAA college football season is on the final stretch, teams will certainly need more than luck just to make it all the way to the coveted berths for a BCS bowl game. And as always, we have some big games for you that will rock the BCS rankings this weekend.
First, we have the Ohio State Buckeyes. They have a chance to win a share of a fourth consecutive Big Ten title and earn an automatic BCS berth with a win against the struggling Michigan Wolverines. Ohio State (9-2, 6-1) ranks 84th nationally in total offense (332.7 yards per game), and are 107th out of 119 Football Bowl Subdivision teams in passing (144.8).
With all the struggles
they’ve been having offensively, facing the Michigan Wolverines (3-8, 2-5) could just be what the doctor ordered since those guys are virtually going nowhere this year.
Next, the Florida Gators, the No.3 ranked team in the nation, is expected to win their game against Citadel n convincing fashion since it’s a school to which they’ve never lost to. Florida (9-1) closed out its conference slate with a 56-6 home rout of South Carolina and former coach Steve Spurrier last Saturday. It was the sixth straight victory for the SEC East Division champions, with all six wins coming by at least 28 points.
Florida has outscored opponents 299-63 during its six-game winning streak, including 101-0 in the first quarter, giving all the reasons why you should bet everything you have on Florida right now.
One of the most anticipated college football games this Saturday is the face-off between the unbeaten Utah Utes and the 16th-ranked Brigham Young Cougars. BYU and Utah have faced off 89 times since 1896, but few of those meetings have been as significant nationally as this weekend’s game, which earlier this season had potential to pit a pair of unbeatens playing for an outright conference title and a BCS bid.
That prospect died when the BYU Cougars (10-1, 6-1) lost 32-7 at TCU on Oct.16. Utah (11-0, 7-0) on the other hand, hasn’t faltered yet en route to their second 11-0 start in school history.
In 2004, the Utes finished 12-0 and became the first team from outside the six BCS conferences to reach a BCS bowl, beating Pittsburgh 35-7 in the Fiesta Bowl. They’re hoping for a similar end to this season. They have to beat their rivals for the first time since 2005 first.
