2008 NCAA College Football Week 4 Betting Picks

Week 4 continues with some good games over the weekend.

You read it, the 2008 NCAA college football season resumes Saturday afternoon with some really good games that just might prep you up for the coming big pro NFL games this Sunday.

We start with the Ohio State Buckeyes having another crack at some Trojans. After getting blown away by the Trojans from USC last week, the Buckeyes will have some sort of revenge when they meet another group of Trojans, this time from Troy.

Ohio State has a 2-1 record and Ohio State Buckeyeshave lost just three times in its past 35 games before visiting the top-ranked Trojans in Southern California last week. Two of those losses had come with the national title at stake. The Buckeyes were heavy favorites to beat Florida in the 2007 BCS championship game and lost 41-14, then fell behind by three touchdowns in last season’s title game against LSU.

After losing by 32 to USC, Ohio State this week will face a group of Trojans coming off an even more lopsided win. The Troy Trojans piled up a school-record 736 yards of total offense last Saturday in a 65-0 victory over Alcorn State. The Trojans, members of the Sun Belt conference, have made a habit of visiting top-level opponents since joining Division I-A in 2001.

However, these Trojans are not like the Trojans from USC and Ohio State is a far better opponent than Alcorn State. They’re 1-13 against ranked teams anyway so you can expect the no.13 Ohio State to blow these Trojans away to smithereens.

Next, we have the 15th seed East Carolina Pirates, who have been flawless so far this season, looking for a 4-0 start for the first time in nine years by visiting North Carolina State on Saturday. East Carolina (3-0) scored two touchdowns in the final 3:36 to stun then-No. 17 Virginia Tech 27-22 in both teams’ season opener Aug. 30. The Pirates however, didn’t need any late heroics in their next games as they posted two more wins to put their team in the Top 25 rankings for the first time since 1999.

The North Carolina State Wolfpack, on the other hand, are coming off a 27-9 loss to Clemson and will be looking to get back to the win column this Saturday. Freshman quarterback Russell Wilson was only 10-of-21 for 92 yards while giving up an interception in a loss to Clemson.

Not the perfect time to face a team looking to extend their perfect run eh?
