2008 NCAA College Football Week 6 Betting Picks
I wonder who’ll end up on top of the BCS standings this time?
Yep, the revolving door of the BCS rankings will continue as Week 6 of the 2008 NCAA college football season continues this Saturday as a number of ranked teams on that field get going again.
Let’s start with the current No.1 team of the nation, the Oklahomas Sooners. Yes, the Sooners ended up on top of the rankings last week and they will open Big 12 play on the road against the Baylor Bears this Saturday.
The Oklahoma Sooners have
climbed on top of the poll after a 35-10 win over TCU last week combined with upset losses by then No.1 ranked team USC Trojans, the Georgia Bulldogs and the Florida Gators. The Sooners would almost be assured of retaining their No.1 ranking with another win over Baylor, an opponent they’ve beaten 12 straight times in conference play by an average of more than 24 points.
There’s no way in hell why you should not bet on the Oklahoma Sooners this Saturday.
Next, we have the No.2 ranked team of the nation and in case you have no idea who that is, it’s Nick Saban’s team, the Alabama Crimson Tide. They will play hosts to the undefeated Kentucky Wildcats in an SEC match up Saturday afternoon. Alabama (5-0, 2-0) has the potential to be a serious national championship contender. They started like a house on fire with a win over then No.3 Georgia last week. The Crimson Tide scored on their first five possessions and jumped out to a 31-0 lead in posting its second victory over a Top 5 school this season.
Though the Wildcats (4-0) head into their conference opener armed with the nation’s top scoring defense that allows 5.5 points per contest, they won’t have history on their side. Alabama leads the series with Kentucky 33-2-1 and is 8-0 in Tuscaloosa.
Probably why you should put all your money on the Alabama Crimson Tide now.
And last but certainly not the least, we have the No.4 Missouri Tigers looking to score their first win over the Nebraska Cornhuskers in 30 years. Yes, this could be one of those games that you cold almost expect an upset brewing.
The 4-0 Tigers had a bye last week, but still managed to move up two spots in the AP poll after top-ranked Southern California, third-ranked Georgia and fourth-ranked Florida all suffered upset losses. Isn’t that great? They didn’t do shit and they wake up one morning ranked fourth in the nation. That’s probably why were picking the Nebraska Cornhuskers on this one. After all, these guys have been beating Missouri for 30 years now and it’s hard to argue with history.
