2008 NCAA College Football Week 7 Betting Picks

We have some big big BIG games for you this week people.

You read it, Week 7 of the 2008 NCAA college football season continues this Saturday with quite a few BIG games that’ll make every true football fan salivate in delight.

Of course, the obvious one is the game between No.1 Oklahoma Sooners and No.5 Texas Longhorns. These two teams have been two of the most successful football programs on the college gridiron and having a game between these two rivals at this point of the season is definitely something to witness considering both teams are looking for a BCS title at the end of the season.

The Oklahoma Sooners Oklahoma Sooners vs Texas Longhornsand the Texas Longhorns will be meeting for the 103rd time in their storied rivalry, the fourth time in eight seasons that both are ranked in the top five. Coming into the game, the Sooners are yet to fumble although Oklahoma quarterbacks have thrown a total of four interceptions, three of them coming from starter Sam Bradford.

The Texas offense, on the other hand, has three lost fumbles, one of them by a first-teamer, and three interceptions. However, the Longhorns runningbacks, like Oklahoma, have yet to put the ball on the ground, which will probably pave the way for one college football game being won with the running game.

In another highly anticipated match up, the LSU Tigers square off with the Florida Gators in a game between two BCS champions looking to regain their spot at the top of the mountain.

For the second consecutive week, the Florida Gators let an underdog hang with them for three quarters Saturday. But unlike the previous week’s stunning home loss to Ole Miss, the Gators pulled away late, scoring 21 fourth-quarter points to win 38-7 at Arkansas.

Florida survived a sluggish, penalty-filled offensive performance with some fireworks late. Quarterback Tim Tebow got the offense going with a 21-yard touchdown pass to Pecry Harvin, the first of three fourth-quarter touchdowns. Chris Rainey followed with a 75-yard touchdown run and Jeff Demps added his second TD of the game, a 48-yarder with 2:29 left to pad the score.

For the LSU Tigers, Jarrett Lee became the first LSU freshman quarterback to go the distance and win his first SEC start since Herb Tyler did it against Ole Miss in 1995. Lee played all but one snap on offense and was 18-of-27 passing for 261 yards, including a pair of touchdowns in LSU’s 34-24 victory over Mississippi State. He is 45-of-77 passing for the season with only three interceptions. Wide receiver Brandon LaFell, on the other hand, leads the SEC in receiving with an average of 87 yards a game in receptions. He is third in catches at 5.5 per contest.

Expect all of these big guns to fire come gameday.
