Ana Ivanovic is still on a roll.

That was a certainty after watching this year’s French Open women’s champion ease through her first match at the 2008 Wimbledon Championships. After Ivanovic claimed her very first career Grand Slam at Roland Garros, it certainly looks like the sexy Serbian is looking to win her next one already in England.

Heck, Ana Ivanovic didn’t even need an hour to dispatch her first round opponent, Rossana de Rios. Now ranked as the overall No.1 women’s player in the world after winning the French Open, Ivanovic won easily, eliminating probably the best tennis player Paraguay has to offer, 6-1, 6-2 in a dominant showing that went for less than an hour.

Ivanovic came into the 2008 All England Lawn Tennis Championships as the top seed and after beating Rossana de Rios rather easily, tennis fans in England realized why.

”Coming as the top seed, lots of people just expect you to win,” Ana Ivanovic said. ”You have to work hard, especially on grass. Everything is happening so fast.”

”Becoming No.1 takes more pressure, but also you have to see pressure for what it is. It’s a reflection of your own ambition. If you see it as a positive thing, it means that you put yourself in a position to do something memorable. So if you look at it that way, it can be very motivating.”

”I think I played quite well today, considering it’s the first match. Especially first match on the grass. It’s quite a big change but I was very happy to be back on Centre Court,” Ivanovic said.

”Today’s match was a tough one. I had to stay focused. I served really well and that’s something that really help me. I was quite aggressive, so I was pleased with the way I played,” she added.
