Browns ended up as Giant Killers, beat New York 35-14

We really don’t know what to expect in the NFL now after this one.

The past week in the 2008-09 NFL football season has been a week full of upsets. After Tampa Bay almost shut out the red hot Panthers, Houston coming back from last week’s collapse to beat Miami and Arizona beating Tony Romo and his Cowboys, the conclusion to this week’s edition of Monday Night Football topped it all.

The Cleveland Browns, after all their problems this season, dropping their first three games, are finally back on their feet after winning their next two. Their last win however, could be the point where they really turn their season around because after beating the defending Super Bowl champions, New York Giants, the Browns just became the hottest ticket in NFL football.

You read it, the Browns beat Cleveland Brownsthe New York Giants, 35-14, in their return to primetime since 2003. For the last five years, Monday Night Football and Cleveland have never been under the same sentence, and in their return last Monday, the Browns made sure it would be a memorable one.

With Browns wideout Braylon Edwards sticking an Olympic-caliber cartwheel and back flip during pregame introductions, the Dawg Pound knew they’re in for something special. Thanks to Edwards who made sure of that, grabbing 154 receiving yards and a touchdown, Edwards ended up with the best performance of the game after probably the most interesting pregame warm-up of the season.

Browns quarterback Derek Anderson was spectacular as well, going 18-for-29 to rack up 310 yards and two touchdowns. Anderson outplayed Super Bowl XLII MVP Eli Manning, who only had a touchdown under his name with three interceptions.

Yep, the Browns defense was on Eli Manning alright. Manning only had two interceptions in his last EIGHT FREAKIN’ GAMES. Yes, that’s how good Eli has become since that Cinderella run they came up with in the playoffs last season. I have no idea how in the hell the Cleveland Browns pulled this one off.

How did the Browns fans from the Dawg Pound send the losing Giants back to New York? They were chanting ‘’Over-rated'’ after another rare win on the gridiron.
