Can MVP Kobe Bryant lead Lakers to a win in Utah?

Phase three of what could be a surprising sweep of the Jazz resumes on Friday.

With the Lakers holding a commanding 2-0 lead over the Jazz in this best-of-seven second round series of the 2008 NBA playoffs, Kobe Bryant will be looking to accomplish probably the hardest task to do this year, beat the Jazz at the EnergySolutions Arena.

Sure, the Houston Rockets already won one there, coming up with a surprising 94-92 win at the EnergySolutions Arena back in Game 3 of their first round series with the Utah Jazz. But the fact of the matter is, the Jazz were holding a 2-0 lead then and the only possible explanation why the Rockets came up with a win in the very place most of the NBA teams fear this year is the possibility that the Jazz simply, let up. After all, the Jazz only lost by two points right?

Kobe BryantBeing down 0-2 to the Los Angeles Lakers, you can bet your ass the Jazz will be bringing their A-game at home on Friday. Losing by double-digits for two consecutive games to this Lakers team should be reason enough to salivate for a win.

Besides, watching the 2007-08 NBA Most Valuable Player of the Year Kobe Bryant, pull his jersey and celebrate in your face can get irritating, to say the least.

Kobe Bryant has been the ‘’official Mormon killer'’ if you will. In Game 1, KB24 scored a game-high 38 points to make all them Mormons watching their beloved Jazz cry in front of the TV. The Lakers won by eleven points, beating Utah 109-98.

In Game 2, it was more of the same as Kobe dropped a game-high 34 points to win this time by ten, beating Utah 120-110. Looks like Mr. Kobe Bryant won’t be invited to a Mormon community in this lifetime or the next eh?

Game 3 on Friday should prove to be interesting. The Jazz hold the best home record of the regular season and when the Most Valuable Player of the Year visits their yard, I’m not so sure if Mr. MVP can pull off another win this time.
