Can the Suns and the Pistons even their series 1-1?
Yes people, in the next two days, both the Suns and the Pistons will hope to even their respective first round series match-ups a game apiece.
The 2008 NBA playoffs have started (in case you didn’t know it yet…) and we sure have a lot of teams eager to come in Game 2 and walk out with their best-of-seven first round series even 1-1.
One of which is the team from the desert, the Phoenix Suns. After the Spurs handed them a 117-115 loss in double overtime, these Suns are probably coming into Game 2 on Tuesday knowing that they should’ve won the first one.
I mean, c’mon, Tim Duncan for
three?!? That was the scene that shocked Phoenix after TD sank a miracle three-point shot to send Game 1 into a second overtime. Then, if it wasn’t for another miraculous shot, this time from Manu Ginobili, the Suns could’ve won Game 1 to steal homecourt from the defending champions, San Antonio Spurs.
As far as the Phoenix Suns go, they were still the more dominant team for me. It just so happens that the San Antonio Spurs simply got lucky.
In Game 2, you can expect the Suns to take it to the Spurs right from the get-go. With a frontline of Shaquille O’Neal and Amare Stoudemire, San Antonio’s Duncan and Fabricio Oberto should have no business matching up to those two. And I’m not expecting the Spurs to get lucky again for the second straight game either.
On Wednesday, the Detroit Pistons will be looking to fix the mess they ended up with back in Game 1 as they resume their best-of-seven, first round series with the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 2.
The Philadelphia 76ers made everybody notice last Sunday, beating the no.2 seed Pistons, 90-86, to steal homecourt. Andre Miller led the 76ers with 20 points while Willie Green came up with a career playoff-high, 17, in what has been the biggest shocker in the postseason to date.
Are you expecting the 76ers to beat the Pistons again on their home floor? Puh-lease, don’t be naïve.
