After bitch slapping a poor Aussie, Kevin Garnett will be out for his team’s game this Tuesday. Thankfully, it’s against the Knicks.

Scuffles on the court are turning into quite a trend in the first few weeks of the 2008-09 NBA basketball season. After seeing one in Phoenix between the Suns and the Rockets, another scuffle transpired in Milwaukee where the 6′11′’ Garnett hit the flimsy Aussie Andrew Bogut last weekend.

Apparently, the incident happened after Andrew Bogut hit Kevin Garnett while drawing a foul on the fiery veteran. Bogut’s left arm caught KG in the mouth on the way down. Garnett responded with an open-hand swipe, bitch slapping Bogut like a moron.

Of course, the Milwaukee Bucks argued that Bogut’s hit on the Boston Celtics forward was purely unintentional. But since players have already been warned during each team’s annual preseason seminar with NBA officials that players have to be responsible for any contact with their elbows, intentional or not, it was Bogut’s responsibility not to catch Garnett’s mug with his elbow.

And after Bogut got bitch slapped in front of their fans, the Milwaukee Bucks ultimately lost to Boston, 102-97 in overtime. Talk about one long night for the Aussie eh?

The Celtics have the New York Knicks next in Boston and after KG hit Andrew Bogut in Milwaukee, the NBA has suspended him for a game. That means he’ll be out on Tuesday but since they will face the Knicks, I guess the suspension won’t hurt the Celtics that much come gametime.

The New York Knicks are surprisingly over .500 at this point of the season. But don’t let their record fool you. They’re still the same team that almost failed to win 20 games last season and as long as they keep Stephon Marbury off the floor, winning 20 games could still be a struggle.
