C’mon Houston, give Sage Rosenfels a break after costing your Texans what was a sure win over the Colts

Come to think of it, um… MAYBE NOT.

For all ya’ll who missed the biggest, wackiest and dumbest collapse of the 2008-09 NFL football season, it all happened last Sunday in Houston, Texas where the 0-3 Texans were on the verge of their first win of the season, leading the mighty Colts 27-10 with just eight minutes remaining in the game.

The Houston Texans were feeding off the support from their fans thinking that they will finally get on the win column with a win over one of the best teams in the AFC today. That’s until Sage Rosenfels staged one of the biggest collapse in NFL history.

Leading by 17 points in the fourth Sage Rosenfelsquarter, Sage Rosenfels fumbled the football twice, leading to two touchdowns for Indianapolis. Then, after the Colts intercepted Rosenfels’ last-ditch comeback attempt, what was suppose to be Houston’s first win of the season ended up their fourth loss in a row.

Crazy huh? Rosenfels’ breakdown was so fucking pathetic that you’d wonder if the Indianapolis Colts have him on their payroll.

‘’All of our team played great football today, played winning football and I made those mistakes that cost football games,'’ Sage Rosenfels said. ‘’There is no reason we should have lost that game.'’

The Colts were off to their worst start since starting a season 0-4 back in 1998 when Peyton Manning was a rookie. They were on the verge of falling to a 1-3 start this season but thanks to Rosenfels, they find themselves in second place, behind only to the surprising Tennessee Titans who are still undefeated at 5-0.

‘’The encouraging thing is we feel like we can find a little more consistency, we’re capable of scoring more points and we have the players to do it,'’ Peyton Manning said. ‘’The idea today was to get a little swagger back. I was proud of the guys for never giving up and fighting ’til the end.'’

Texans fans were clamoring for somebody to replace Matt Schaub. For three quarters into last Sunday’s game, it looked like Houston may have finally found someone in Rosenfels but after he literally cost Houston the goddamn game, I guess the Texans will definitely have a change of heart.
