Connecticut Huskies visit the Louisville Cardinals
The end of the work week means rest to some, for the Cardinals and the Huskies, it’s business as usual.
The 2008 NCAA college football season resumes on Friday as the Louisville Cardinals look to extend their winning streak to three when they host still undefeated Connecticut Huskies in Week 5.
After losing their season opener to Kentucky 27-2, the Louisville Cardinals bounced back by thrashing the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles 51-10. They followed it up with a close 38-29 victory over Kansas State, giving them momentum when they face the Huskies this Friday.
The Cardinals scored
touchdowns on offense, defense and special teams en route to a blowout victory over the Golden Eagles back in Week 2. Hunter Cantwell completed eight of his first 11 passes as Louisville scored on its opening drive and never looked back.
Victor Anderson ran for 176 yards and three touchdowns the following week as the Cardinals rolled past Kansas State at home. Louisville finished with 303 yards on the ground, and it took a fourth-quarter Wildcats surge to make the final score respectable.
The Connecticut Huskies, on the other hand, are looking for their fifth straight victory in as many games and it seems that they have all the right ingredients to do just that. The Huskies have playmakers on offense and stoppers on defense, making this team one tough nut to crack, to say the least.
In their first game, the Huskies ran all over Hofstra as Donald Brown had 146 yards and four touchdowns in a rout of the Pride. UConn won its opener despite five turnovers and 70 yards in penalties, as they gained 218 yards on the ground to control the clock and the game.
Again, Brown was the hero in their second win of the season, beating Temple after Brown rushed for 214 yards and the lone UConn touchdown in overtime as the Huskies escaped the Owls.
This should be a good one on Friday people.
