Detroit Pistons to end the all this Magic in Game 5
Yep, it looks like the Pistons will advance to the NBA Eastern Conference finals yet again.
The 2008 NBA playoffs begin to close in on the championship games, beginning with the two championship series wars in the East and in the West. On Tuesday night, the Pistons will look to become the first team to reach it as they try to end the Magic’s season at home holding a commanding 3-1 series lead looking to advance to the Eastern Conference finals for the 6th straight year.
You read it people, the Detroit Pistons are finally clicking on all cylinders after looking lost in their first playoff series against Philly. They came up with a nail-bitting win over the Orlando Magic last Saturday night in Game 4 of their best-of-seven second round face-off, winning 90-89 thanks to a Tayshaun Prince hook shot with merely a few seconds left on the clock.
That win put the Pistons ahead in their series with the Orlando Magic 3-1 after stealing one from the Magic’s own turf at the Amway Arena. Orlando’s Hedo Turkoglu still had a chance to steal the win with time running out, unfortunately for this ‘’other'’ team from Florida, he missed.
Richard Hamilton, STILL playing without backcourt teammate Chauncey Billups, scored a game-high 32 points. Hamilton picked up the slack with their floor general still out with his right hamstring injury. And yep, Hamilton indeed came through when it mattered most.
Pistons forward Rasheed Wallace was more than satisfied of grabbing a commanding 3-1 series lead over Orlando. After giving up 111 points in their Game 3 loss last Wednesday night, ‘Sheed was happy they finally played some defense.
‘’We just played ‘D’ that’s what we do,'’ Rasheed Wallace said after scoring 16 points and grabbing 8 rebounds in Game 4. ‘’It was a physical game on both sides of the ball. That is our style; we like being physical. We just wish we could do that more often.'’
Game 5 is back in Detroit at the Palace of Auburn Hills. The Pistons probably have this one in the bag already. But it sure will help if Chauncey Billups finally comes back and play.
Pistons will win this one, and it doesn’t matter if Jameer Nelson runs his mouth again before tip-off.
