After spending most of last season in the injured list, Arenas will start the brand new season… in the injured list.

Pathetic isn’t it? In case you haven’t heard, yes, Gilbert Arenas will be in the injured list yet again to start the coming 2008-09 NBA basketball season. The guy has spent most of his career there already that if the injured list was a pro NBA team, Arenas would’ve been their star player.

After going through a third operation on his left knee, Gilbert Arenas has once again singlehandedly put the entire Washington Wizards organization in full spin mode as they are about to face yet another season uncertain when will they have their star player back.

For what it’s worth, Gilbert Arenas claims he’ll be back by December. Still, knowing Arenas’ past with injuries, I’d be surprised to see Arenas back by January next year. Yes, he’s career the last few years has been that pathetic.

Still, the Washington Wizards have found ways to win ball games without Agent Zero. They made the playoffs the last few years with Arenas injured and now entering another season without their star, the Wizards are ready, to say the least.

”I don’t know if it is a setback,” Washington Wizards team president Ernie Grunfeld said. ”It’s just an opportunity for other guys to step up and pick up the slack.”

Yep, he’s been saying those words a lot the last few seasons. Hee hee…

Arenas on the other hand, is hoping that this surgery will finally bring him back to who he once was. After all the problems he had with his knee throughout his career, he’s hoping this third surgery will be the last one he’ll ever have to go through.

”I just had some floating debris in there that was slowing me down,” Gilbert Arenas said. ”It was irritating the knee so we decided to go in there and clean it out. This should actually allow me to come back faster.”

Yeah. Sure it is.
