IT’S ON: Ohio State V LSU for 2008 BCS National Title

January 7, Monday, that’s when the Buckeyes and the Tigers play for the ultimate prize on the college gridiron.

And although to some, it’ll just be the first working day of the new year following a much needed vacation, (HINT: ME) both the Ohio State Buckeyes and the LSU Tigers were probably itching to come back to work on the 7th of January since the regular season officially ended back in December.

Who can blame them? This is after all, only the biggest thing a football team can win next to a Super Bowl championship. And with the way the college football season has been simply crazy, winning the 2008 AllState BCS championship game amidst all that madness will definitely be sweet.

2008 AllState BCS National ChampionshipComing into this one, the LSU Tigers will come out of the SEC as the favorites to beat them Buckeyes at the BCS national title game. Although I strongly disagree, the Tigers are -4.5 favorites to win the title game in New Orleans at the Louisiana Superdome.

That’s despite the fact that LSU lost two games overall, both in their own SEC conference compared to the Buckeyes who only lost one, that’s to their rivals from Illinois, the Fighting Illini.

That’s also despite the fact that the Ohio State Buckeyes will come in to the 2008 AllState BCS national championship game with a ridiculously crazy defense that allowed only TWO… TWO rushing touchdowns all season long. Jeez…

The Buckeyes will be representing the Big Ten, a conference that has a 9-7 record over the SEC when it comes to BCS bowl games like this one we will be having Monday. Big Ten has always been all about power football and in case you didn’t get it yet, I’ll be rooting for power over the speed of the SEC.

Probably because I just love them Bucks. He he…

Pick the Bucks if you want to win them bucks Monday because these guys will definitely not let yet another BCS national title slip from them for the second straight time. Seriously, Buckeyes will beat LSU by two touchdowns.

Who will win the 2008 AllState BCS national championship game between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the LSU Tigers? Bodog Sportsbook, despite all the shit these guys went through in 2007, still has the odds.

LSU Tigers -4.5

Ohio State Buckeyes +4.5
