John Lynch loved the way he was cut by the Patriots
My sentiments exactly. And if you don’t have a clue who John Lynch is, he is the nine-time Pro Bowl safety who was coming to the 2008-09 NFL football season looking to salvage what’s left of his career after joining the Patriots. But when those guys decided they no longer need an old fart like him still trying to play safety, he was cut from the roster.
You read it, John Lynch was cut by the New England Patriots after he was signed by the team just a couple of weeks ago. And just when you thought you had a steal of a deal when you signed him in your fantasy teams from the free agency pool, learning about this news will probably make you twitch.
The New England Patriots are not
ruling him out entirely. After all, those guys have a knack for signing veterans and often released them, only to sign them again when needed. Lynch, now 36 years old, could fall into that classification.
‘’It goes without saying but John is an all-time great safety, one of the league’s classiest professionals and his elite play speaks for itself,'’ Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said. ‘’As has been the case in other situations, I would not rule anything out down the road.'’
Normally, any NFL veteran, especially multi-time Pro Bowlers like John Lynch, will just be pissed about this stuff happening in the late stages of their respective careers. But for some reason, Lynch is still kissing the Patriots’ ass.
‘’I have no regrets about my time thus far with the Patriots,'’ Lynch said in a statement released by the team. ‘’The immense respect that I’ve long held for the organization has been only heightened over the past couple of weeks. I am going to keep all options open and look forward with excitement to see what the future brings.'’
Yes, the idea that he can play for a team led by Tom Brady just gives Lynch goosebumps.
