NBA Players Union hate the Bostons Celtics
No, these guys are no Cavalier fans.
Before the Boston Celtics beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 89-73, in Game 2 of their best-of-seven second round series in the 2008 NBA playoffs, somebody got their feelings hurt. And mind you, I’m talking about a guy other than Dwyane Wade, probably still bitching about the fucked up season that they had.
Apparently, NBA Players Union official Hal Biagas (who happens to be a lawyer as well…) wanted to visit the Boston Celtics locker room before their Game 2 face-off with the Cleveland Cavaliers but much to his dismay, his request was denied. Biagas said he had never before been denied pregame access to a locker room.
It turns out that the Boston Celtics always have these ‘’closed-door'’ meetings and reports have it that the Celtics have initially told the NBA Players Union that no one from their organization would be allowed in the Celtics’ locker room. Hmm…
‘’The Celtics are the only team in the league that believes they have the right to keep union personnel from the locker room, and as a result we’re filing a complaint with the NLRB,'’ union spokesman Dan Wasserman said, explaining that a basic tenet of labor law calls for union representatives to have access to employees inside the workplace.
What do these guys want to see inside the Celtics’ locker room anyway? Paul Pierce taking a shower?!?
ANYWAY, the Boston Celtics did beat the Cleveland Cavaliers, 89-73, in Game 2 of their best-of-seven second round series. After a dismal shooting performance from 2/3 of the BIG THREE, all three All-Stars were out firing and none of the Cavaliers was able to do something about it.
Ray Allen, after scoring no points whatsoever in Game 1, scored 16 points, while Paul Pierce led the way with a team-high 19. Yep, those two were firing on all cylinders that Kevin Garnett didn’t have to do anything.
Kevin Garnett scored 13 just for fun.
